Lewis & Clark College Top Questions

What is the stereotype of students at your school? Is this stereotype accurate?

Olivia

Lewis & Clark has a reputation of being very liberal and attracting a "hipster"/alt. kinds of personalities. It has been listed as one of the most beautiful college campuses in America, and one of the most Marijuana friendly. I would say that the reputation of the students is fairly true, but I would not stop there. We are a very liberal school, but there are many many different opinions and you are bound to have interesting and engaging conversations in any class. The school is also diverse culturally. There are many students from different countries, which gives everyone a chance to learn perspectives from other cultures. Students at Lewis & Clark are also active in student groups such as: clubs, student government, jobs, internships, and sports. So I would say, look beyond the stereotypes and you will friend a lot of genuine and intelligent people that will connect with.

Rich white stoners. There is certainly a large hipster culture here, but I feel like that's got to be more or less what the student body of most college campuses are like today. There is also a lot of money here for sure, but there's a good amount of kids who are here because it was the only school they could afford due to Lewis and Clark's awesome financial aid.
