I love LIM College. It is a work and intern-required school so you WILL be busy and you must learn time management. This is a great thing, though, because it opens up so many opportunities to students. Class size (between 15 and 30 people) is also a bonus because it gives you a very personal education. You get to know your professors and vice versa; your professors can definitely help you along the way!
LIM College is an amazing and competitive college for those pursuing a degree in the business of fashion. Although it focuses on the business side, students thrive in a creative and stimulating environment. By also being in Midtown Manhattan, the energy runs high and all students are busy all the time -- working, connecting, interning, leading, etc. One downfall is that, as an honors student at LIM, I wish I was challenged more often in classes with critical thinking. However, LIM is a great place to be if you love style, have a drive for business, and thrive in NYC.
It is what you make it. You're experience will depend on your expectations of the college and the experience. LIM is straight to the point with getting you career ready, no baby-spooning or beating around the bush. They are there to give you the tools to build your knowledge and resume. If you want much more of a college experience than that then simply go somewhere else. I just want my degree and a healthy resume, everything else that happens is my responsibility to make happen. Nobody can secure a job for you if you don't put forth the effort.
LIM College is a private school located in the heart of midtown. The school has an open door policy which makes getting in contact with teaches and facility either in person via email very simple. Because of this policy I personally feel like my teachers want me to succeed.

I would tell myself to live in the dorms because it's hard to make friends at college when you commute.
Career Services. By the time we graduate, we will have already had three full internships in the fashion industry. Our school has amazing internship and job opportunities available to students.
LIM is the road to success.
They are fashionable.
Before coming to this school, I wish I would have known to have previous work experience. In searching for a job, I had major competition because almost everyone else in my school had years of retail experience. I was blessed with my current job, I was hired on the spot without any experience.
Must be interested/looking to go into the fashion industry, someone who is looking to make good friends (majority of people commute), helpful in projects and classes if you are creative and artistic
When I tell others about Laboratory Institue of Merchandising, I bring up the phenomenal networking this college has and the endless amount of internships LIM College offers. The personal relationship you create with your professors are also something so amazing about this college.
it is in the middle of the city, and also in the mdidle of the fashion capital of the world
LIM is slightly unorganized and the administrative staff takes too long to respond. It is also a hassle to get things done, such as scheduling courses.
Person who loves the city, fashion, and diversity! LIM college main campus is on madison ave right in the middle of high end shopping.
The most frustrating thing about going to my school is how expensive the tuition is. Although going to this school has provided me with various resources, including a job, it scares me knowing the amount of debt I'll be in after college.
