It is clean, pretty, and full of life. It is a large campus for such a small population but everything is easily within walking distance (or bike if you prefer). The environment is friendly and you always recognize a face wherever you go. Linfield has so many opportunities on and off campus students can take advantage of.

The Linfield campus is beautiful. While the college is small, the campus is widespread in proportion to the population and covered in fields and greenery. Most of the buildings are brick which provides the classic college feel, but inside, especially in the academic buildings, the setting is more modern. It's the perfect environment to find a quiet place to study or plan an activity with friends. Most buildings seem pretty up to date. Linfield has an exceptional campus compared to colleges of similar type. Campus is within walking distance to the downtown area which is very convenient.

This college is usually a wonderful place. However, it is a liberal-dominated campus and having a different point of view is often difficult. The dorms are much bigger than other colleges, but the dining hall leaves something to be desired. Some entry classes are larger, but all are reasonably sized. They do not even have a large lecture hall! There are many amazing people and professors here, as long as you find them. Some professors really do go above and beyond for their students. The student leadership team also holds events regularly that can be pretty fun. At Linfield, you can have an amazing experience, as long as you work for it.

Linfield College, located in McMinnville Oregon's suburbs is a wonderful place to pursue an undergraduate education. Our campus is decorated with cute little squirrels, acorns and our Wildcat mascot. Although we are known for our nursing program, other emphasis areas do not fall by the wayside-- as a Political Science major and Spanish minor, I absolutely love the courses and professors offered for my emphasis areas! Overall, our small class sizes and liberal arts approach allows students to have contact with their professors, ask questions and excel academically. Linfield also promotes diversity through Spanish Club and Black Student Union, academics through our honor societies and athletics through our great sports teams like football and softball. Go Cats!

  2. What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

I would first and foremost emphasize the importance of prioritizing activities on a daily basis. Freshman year can be overwhelming because of your new personal freedom and new friends you will be making. It will be easy to put off studying and homework to watch TV or go to a party with friends. If you take care of your school-related work first, you will be able to enjoy these extra-curricular activities more. Finally, meet as many people as you can. Your 4 years in college will go by faster than you can imagine, and it will be 4 years surrounded by some of the smartest and most interesting people you will ever be around. Get to know as many people as you can. This will not only enhance your college experience, but create a valuable social network that you will be able to take advantage of for the rest of your life.

  5. What do you consider the worst thing about your school? Why?

While some might say that the worst thing about their school is the price, or the people there, or even the place that it is in. For me however, the worst thing about my school is the fact that I do not get to see my family every day. Even though both my parents and siblings are very busy, we would spend time together every evening. To me that time meant relaxing and catching up with my family.

  6. What's unique about your campus?

Having a small campus means that classes are not that far apart from one another. This makes it easer as a student to sleep longer and still get to class on time. One time I woke up three minutes before class and still made it on time. It was stressful but I and recieved the perfect amount of sleep, which is hard in college.

The people are amazing, and the campus is so pretty you feel like you're walking through a wonderland as you go to class. It's a small school, but there are so many people worth getting to know it feels like four years will never be enough. Honestly, the most frustrating thing about my school is the rain. At least it was when the rainy season first started last year. You kind of get used to it raining after a while - just get a good pair of rain boots and a waterproof jacket. Now my friends and I will go out when its pouring down rain and run around campus until we look like drowned rats! Somehow, we manage to have fun out of doors in all weather.

  14. What is your overall opinion of this school?

Coming from a small high school (less than 500 students in the entire student body!), Linfield College was the perfect school for me. The school is small enough to have a sense of familiarity, but big enough that you have the option to meet new people everywhere you go. It might be a little small for some people, but I personally love it. The campus is clean and beautiful and the bathrooms in the dorms are cleaned daily - however, the crew comes in at inopportune times, especially if you have morning classes that are later than 8:15. The main complaint that people tend to have is about the cafeteria food on some days, but other than that, Linfield is a great school!

  15. What is the stereotype of students at your school? Is this stereotype accurate?

The main stereotype is that people are rich white kids who only care about sports. For the most part, I don't think this to be true. There's diversity in the school and if people are rich, they don't flaunt it.
