I have enjoyed Linn-Benton Community college for their small class size, the accessibility of the instructors and the encouragement they give to students to succeed. They make themselves available to students and ensure that if they are struggling, need help; they have access to resources, including the instructor themselves. Many of my instructors have been kind, respectful and seem to enjoy the topic and I have enjoyed engaging with them.

There is a sense of freedom and need to learn that floats about the campus. The teachers are great, they want you to succeed. Anyone going to this college is there to study. We are not all about the college partying. I'm sure if you looked you would find it. The teachers, staff, and students are there for the right reasons. With a positive outlook on learning anything is possible. Doesn't hurt that they have amazing clubs and food too. <3

I find that Linn-Benton is a wonderful school in terms of academia. Being that I only focus on my studies, the small class sizes appeal to me a lot. Not only that but by having such a small campus we have a more tight-knit community of students, which is always good to have.

Linn-Benton Community College is good for getting credits out of the way. The advisors connect with you very well to make sure you are on track, and will help you with transferring as smoothly as possible. I absolutely love my advisor, even though he is not a typical counselor, he knows what he's doing and always ready to help. The teachers are, for the most part, passionate and really good at staying on track.

Linn-Benton Community College FAQS

  1. What is the Acceptance Rate at Linn-Benton Community College?

The fall 2020 acceptance rate for Linn-Benton Community College is 100%. That means, out of _____ applications received in 2020 , _____ students were offered admission. The number of males who applied was _____ vs the number of females which was _____.

  2. What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

I wasn't the ideal model of a successful student in high school, good grades were not amongst my list of crowning achievements. I was much more worried about making friends and having fun on the sports fields. When it comes to sitting down and doing my homework, or making schedules to stay on track, I simply didn't do either. Nevertheless, I managed to graduate on time simply due to the understanding that I must. If I could go back in time, I would bring with me a violent reality check. College is not a place for those who don't prioritize their studies above sports and high school buddies. Going back in time, I would convince myself that my current goals were fleeting achievements and would be of minimal significance two years from now. I would remind myself that what I do now sets the tone for the rest of my life and I can either choose the difficult and less traveled path now, or live the challenging and well-worn one for the continuation of my life. Like investing early, the reward is exponentially brilliant or those who are disciplined enough to do it.

  3. What do you consider the worst thing about your school? Why?

This is only my second term there so I don't have a lot of experience yet, but I would say the worst thing is the Financial Aid office not being able to keep up with the growing student body.

Students attending LBCC should first come prepared with a mentality that their success and their own level of potential achievement, rests within their own hands. They should understand that without hard work and dedication, they're success may be limited. But if they recognize their own personal responsibility to themselves and attend this school with a self-induced flame at their backs, LBCC will take them much further than they might ever have anticipated. LBCC is warm and inviting and prospective students should come with friendly hearts, open minds, and an eagerness for the life-long friendships that await them.

  10. What's the most frustrating thing about your school?

The financial aid department! They make things extremely difficult to get started, and they fight you on trying to pay them which seems rather silly. Make sure that you get things rolling WAY in advance so that you have time to fix everything they mess up.

  11. Here's your chance: Say anything about your college!

The school is open to diversity and the instructors are very personable. I have found that the faculty and staff have one primary goal in mind: to ensure YOUR success. This is different from the larger, local university which is more after your money than your education and LBCC being a community college has less expensive tuition. Also, the campus is relatively small, so it is not overwhelming.

  13. What's the one thing you wish someone had told you about freshman year?

To be truthful, I can't think of a thing. The staff, faculty and counselers have been highly informative, totaly dedicated, and displayed a level of compassion and professionalizm above and beyond what I think most people would expect. As a "displaced worker", my wife and I were quite aprehensive about school, having not attended for nearly fourty years. These fears were quickly put to rest by the afore mentioned people; so much so , that my wife and I are members of two honor societies, an event that would not have been possible without their level of professionalizm and dedication.
