This school is great the professor's are always there to help you and very good and supporting. I am not sure it's because of the specialized program I am in but I would rate this school high. Although tuition is high I think academically it challenges you and is a good school overall.
I'm a transfer, and this school is so disorganized and unprofessional about everything. It's really quite embarrassing and make my life much more difficult than it needs to be. I just want a degree, yo.
Though this university seem to have a good nursing and pharmacy program there still is room for improvement to make this a even better higher education institute. Most students at this college usually transfer after their 2nd year here, making the transfer and retention rate high because of tuition per semester and inadequate financial aid.
Overall I love LIU Brooklyn, it is my home. The professors are great and understanding and the students are intelligent and are always discussing work outside of class. It is a very academically involved school. The class sizes are always very small so the professors know their students and are able to help them much more. I love everything about LIU Brooklyn but there are two things that I wish that could change. The first is that there are not many food shops nearby that are cheap. A lot of the students are not able to afford the food that is around the campus. The second is that after living on campus for a year, I will not be returning because the campus dorms are very dirty and have a lot of issues. I would love if they could hire a new and responsible staff for the on campus housing.
The fall 2020 acceptance rate for LIU Brooklyn is 87%. That means, out of _____ applications received in 2020 , _____ students were offered admission. The number of males who applied was _____ vs the number of females which was _____.
i will tell them that in college no one will tell you what to do such as go to class, do your papers, homeworks etc. you have to take decisions yourselves. you need to be serious than ever before and you need to be more descipline in order to be an excellent student
I wish I had known there was help available for every students needs. I wish I had also known that the school offers payment plans to students who cannot afford to pay off their tuition in full. Also, I wish I had also known I could buy lunch with the school ID. The school adds money into our ID every semester. I wish I had also known that the school has no parking lot. Students have to either pay for parking or come to class an hour before to get a parking spot.
Great health programs and great laboratories and facilities. Very good tutoring center.
My school offers great support for students. Great nursing program and facilities. Very supportive professors and great wellness center.
They are fun, loving and caring people. I was welcomed into this school with open arms with lots of people who were interested in getting to know me and having fun.
The worst thing about my school is how competitive the medical programs are. With all the competition going on, I know several students who found out on the second day of class that they were accepted or denied fromt their program of interest. At this point, they had to make last minute choices to maintain their financial aid for the year by taking extra classes or choosing another career within a matter of a few days. Also, there are some medical departments that show absolutely no interest in helping students which discourages them from even trying.
My school was best known for its nursing program and pharmacy school.
someone that loves the city
financial aid
Long Island University is a school full of life and opportunity.
What's unique about my school compared to other schools I considered is it's size. The campus is very small, but with big opportunities. I am attending this school as a Dance major. What I like is that the dance program is small, so one gets individual help without an overcrowded environment. It is also close to the Broadway District in Manhattan, where I am able to see Broadway shows without having to travel hours to get to Manhattan.
people who are not use to the city life and a busy area. also people who are not open minded to other ethnicities.
The academics are good because they challenge you. If you do not understand something the professors are there to help you or you can get a tutor.
I do not think there are any groups/clubs that are more popular than the others because they are all so different. Either way everyone campus know what clubs are who. So in my opinion all the clubs are equally popular.
My school is very diverse. The people are welcoming and friendly so it makes it easier for you meet new people. My school is not big but it's not too small it is just right. I think the school is good besides the academics but there are so many things going on campus that even you don't want to get involve you always ending you getting involve regardless.
I do not think there are any stereotypes in my school from what I have seen.

All students must apply yearly for financial aid. This process starts with the FAFSA. Though financial aid deadlines vary by school, it is a good idea to apply as soon as possible. For the upcoming school year, you can apply as early as October 1 for the FAFSA. Additional school aid will be dependent on the FAFSA results.
