This school is great the professor's are always there to help you and very good and supporting. I am not sure it's because of the specialized program I am in but I would rate this school high. Although tuition is high I think academically it challenges you and is a good school overall.

The college overall seems very welcoming and for someone who is traveling far to see it, I am glad I did. I am looking forward to returning and enjoying the atmosphere once again and really get to experience what it is like to step out of your comfort zone but join a college that will always be there for you and treat you like family.

LIU Brooklyn is an outstanding school. There are so many resources around and inside the school if it’s feels as if it almost impossible to feel like there is no one to ask for help. The staff especially are very kind and warm welcoming people. I would recommend LIU to students who are pursuing almost any career in college to definitely check out LIU.

I didn't attend LIU, I applied here. Experienced the WORST thing ever! A few months ago I got a denial letter in the mail. At this point I had already put into force my Plan B for graduate school. I received an email on Monday accepting me into the program for Fall 2019, with links to complete my enrollment to secure my spot, along with a FASFA link; it seemed legitimate. I emailed graduate admissions to let them know I was going elsewhere for my education. Then after, received an email from somebody completely different telling me that the acceptance email I received was sent in error and to "kindly disregard this communication." This is EXTREMELY unprofessional, ESPECIALLY for a University! I emailed back expressing my frustration. To continue the unprofessionalism, I received a missed phone call at 10 o'clock at night before bed. I was continuously nagged the next day for them to explain why this happened in the first place. This should've NEVER happened in the first place, I already expressed this to graduate admissions. I can only hope this is a lessen to the University to have this not happen to another potential student, because it is EXTREMELY devastating news to hear.

    i will tell them that in college no one will tell you what to do such as go to class, do your papers, homeworks etc. you have to take decisions yourselves. you need to be serious than ever before and you need to be more descipline in order to be an excellent student

  3. What's the one thing you wish someone had told you about freshman year?

    I wish I had known there was help available for every students needs. I wish I had also known that the school offers payment plans to students who cannot afford to pay off their tuition in full. Also, I wish I had also known I could buy lunch with the school ID. The school adds money into our ID every semester. I wish I had also known that the school has no parking lot. Students have to either pay for parking or come to class an hour before to get a parking spot.

    They are fun, loving and caring people. I was welcomed into this school with open arms with lots of people who were interested in getting to know me and having fun.

  7. What do you consider the worst thing about your school? Why?

    The worst thing about my school is how competitive the medical programs are. With all the competition going on, I know several students who found out on the second day of class that they were accepted or denied fromt their program of interest. At this point, they had to make last minute choices to maintain their financial aid for the year by taking extra classes or choosing another career within a matter of a few days. Also, there are some medical departments that show absolutely no interest in helping students which discourages them from even trying.

    What's unique about my school compared to other schools I considered is it's size. The campus is very small, but with big opportunities. I am attending this school as a Dance major. What I like is that the dance program is small, so one gets individual help without an overcrowded environment. It is also close to the Broadway District in Manhattan, where I am able to see Broadway shows without having to travel hours to get to Manhattan.

    I do not think there are any groups/clubs that are more popular than the others because they are all so different. Either way everyone campus know what clubs are who. So in my opinion all the clubs are equally popular.

    My school is very diverse. The people are welcoming and friendly so it makes it easier for you meet new people. My school is not big but it's not too small it is just right. I think the school is good besides the academics but there are so many things going on campus that even you don't want to get involve you always ending you getting involve regardless.

TUITION & AID

All students must apply yearly for financial aid. This process starts with the FAFSA. Though financial aid deadlines vary by school, it is a good idea to apply as soon as possible. For the upcoming school year, you can apply as early as October 1 for the FAFSA. Additional school aid will be dependent on the FAFSA results.
