Lock Haven University has excellent faculty and staff. With this new integration with Bloomsburg University and Mansfield University, there are things changing that can't entirely be reviewed yet. The trolley service for students to take to classes is a wonderful resource available. You feel very supported by everyone you meet here and there is a wonderful sense of community.

Alexandria - 11/27/2021

Elisha - 07/13/2021

Worst staffing ever, all this school cares about is taking students money. No support what so ever.

Darah - 07/12/2021

Lock Haven University feels like home due to the small campus in the rural setting. It is a very friendly, supportive atmosphere with a culture for learning. The professors are top-notch and always very willing to support the students to meet their needs. The campus and surrounding area is beautiful. I would highly recommend Lock Haven University to any student who loves a small, supportive campus environment.

Lock Haven University FAQS

  1. What is the Acceptance Rate at Lock Haven University?

The fall 2020 acceptance rate for Lock Haven University is 87%. That means, out of _____ applications received in 2020 , _____ students were offered admission. The number of males who applied was _____ vs the number of females which was _____.

  2. What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

If I could go back in time to talk to myself as a high school senior I think I would tell myself to work harder at looking for scholorships and grants as I didnt really do any college preparation until late in the year. I would also try to push myself to decide on a career sooner because for me this was also a issue. Finally when I had decided what i wanted to study everything seemed to go so fast. I would have liked to be able to examine my situation more, maybe planned out a course that could of helped me out a little more financially. Finally I would of told myself to cherish all the time spent with my friends and loved ones. Being away from them now makes me realize how many opportunities to spend time with them I had let slip through my fingers. In the case of a family member who was not just a cousin to me but a friend i will never have any of those opportunities again. I dont regret my life now but if I new then what i know now things might have been easier.

  10. What's the most frustrating thing about your school?

The most frustrating thing about the school I attend is the bills that I will have once I graduate. My parents were unable to help me pay for school, so this has caused me to pile up a bunch of loans that I will have to repay once I graduate. Other than that, I believe Lock Haven University is a great school to attend. They offer small classrooms, which means more attention for each student. Professors are very friendly and always willing to go out of there way to help their students in need.

Lock Haven University is probably best known for having the ability to form good student teacher relationships. The class sizes are fairly small, which makes it easier to communicate with the professors. This makes it easier to follow along and understand the material, as most people feel more at ease in smaller groups. Also, the professors try to be available as possible. If for some reason you are not able to meet with them during the scheduled office hours, they work with you in order to make sure you get in to meet with them at another time.

  16. What are the academics like at your school?

Everyone knows that school is boring, but I love it when my professors make it interesting and filled with knowledge. The teachers are very concerned about not just your classes but you and your life. Teachers and faculty want to see you succeed in your college career. I once had a teacher cancel class because the weather was bad, she came in on a Saturday to teach us the material that we missed the day class got cancelled. My teachers know me personally, and know about my life. I have always struggled in school, so I need more homework help then most of my classmates, and my teachers will be right by my side helping me with homework. The faculty works to your schedule and are very knowledgeable of the subjects they teach.
