Lone Star College is a perfect place to go for about a year and a half to two years because you do save money over going straight to the Universities in town. If you are just focusing on getting the basic courses (not the courses that are core to your major) out of the way, then you might just want to come here. There are no social pressures here, and you can just get in your classes and go home or you can get involved with the organizations. Now, personally, I do believe that the organizations are kinda small and sketchy, at least where I went (CyFair), but do not let that stop you from trying out some of them. The professors are great, you just need to be patient, focus and keep the line of communication open with them. That plays a key role in your success. Those two years will go fast, believe me, so make the most of the opportunity given to you.

The Lone Star North Harris Campus has not been my home for long, not at all if I'm being entirely honest. I have roamed the halls and walked through almost every building but never have I ever felt at home. I recently got selected to join the Honors Program and no it wasn't what i thought it would be but it has been the most home-like place for me so far. I'm shy and terrified of new things but seeing everyone else feel at home makes me think I could make my home there as well. I was reminded of the kind of unity I felt when I was in high school marching band. It felt like a family. I hope to one day feel as comfortable as others in the program do and I realize I have a long way to go but the Professors are amazing and the students are welcoming and that is not what I expected from college so it's already a nice surprise. A welcome feeling for someone so small in a big world. I now understand what the slogan, "Start close. Go far." means. This tight-nit group is close but they are preparing to spread their wings go far. I hope to do the same.

My overall opinion of Lone Star College System is that it is a great college to begin with after you graduate from high school. They also offer a lot of different programs whether it may be nursing, dental hygienist or if you just want to get a certificate.

What is your overall opinion of this school?

So far I have only taken online classes and visited the campus for in-person testing. I would say the college is pretty good. They have a wide variety of teachers for online classes, although in class options are a bit limited. There are about 3 campuses near me, which I think is a good thing. The college definitely has a wide variety of students.

Lone Star College is an excellent place to go for people who want a more flexible program or aren't just sure where they would wish to college education to get them. There are more on-field events hosted every session to make students involved with their educational group. Results have included meetings with the school's chairman and other executives too as several guest speakers and seminars on business seeking. While these results are useful to some; they frequently are not comprehensive to the variety of students. Students who want to pursue careers in commerce and businesses benefit most from these results. Students involved in healthcare, education; and engineering are given fewer chances to be involved, and students who seek arts of any sort have none virtually. Most teachers have daily business hours and are easy to meet. This Lone Star site is difficult to navigate, and changes change often. Administration in Lone character often shifts, too.

I was initially hesitant to enroll in Lone Star College and was planning on going to University. I ended up deciding to go here and I feel really happy that I did. I honestly feel like it was really important to come here first for me because it helped me get a taste of college without becoming overwhelmed.

What is your overall opinion of this school?

Lone Star College Systems provide sufficient support for their students to graduate and continue their education in 4 year universities. I like the campus design because it is difficult to get lost and is surrounded by lots of nature. There are new departments created from time to time, and this just shows how Lone Star College aims to be the best at improving. The professors are all different and this is good because it means more diversity. The only negative opinion I have is that some professors do not lecture; they assign chapters and quizzes and literally wish the students "good luck". What can I say? This is college.

What is your overall opinion of this school?

Lone Star is amazing. The campus (Cy-Fair) is beautiful and just the right size. The class sizes are perfect, it's the size of an average high school class so you are still able to get to know your peers, communicate with classmates and teachers easily, and your teacher knows who you are and how to help you. Teachers are very helpful and almost always available to help you after class. There are lots of great clubs to join and fun activities on campus. This may just be a small community college, but they want you to be as involved as you can be!
