It's a good community college but it's just not the greatest. There are extracurricular activities and i'm guessing sports events but no one really knows about them. I feel like that school is mostly just seen as below average. The teachers are satisfactory, i would say. Although, i do have to note that the teachers for the general chemistry 2 department are lacking.

I have been attending Lone Star for quite some time and it has been a great experience. I have made friends, obtained knowledge, and overall have enjoyed my time here. It is a great start and stepping stone to pursuing higher education. I recommend anyone who needs a start, to start at Lone Star.

I believe that Lone Star is definitely a good start for someone just wanting to get their basics out of the way because it's a decent campus, decent staff, and pretty nice lectures, although I do wish we did a little more when it comes to sports because I feel like this campus should have a team or something like that!

I enjoy Lone Star College and feel it is a great environment to learn and to meet new people. I happen to be a dual credit student which means I happen to be a lot younger than most of the students that attend. However, that has never been an obstacle and has never been a problem even to this day almost four years later.

I just finished my frist semester there and it was very comfortable and very affordable for me to go and was close to home. I would say it is a school that i would recommend to my family and friends. And if i would have to take extra class after finishing my education i would come back.

Lone Star College System is a great community college. I have been there for one semester so far to do my basics and I love it. I do most of my courses online and the professors are always available and an email away to answer questions. The courses are not too challenging, but they are slightly challenging and easy to balance a job and schoolwork.

What is your overall opinion of this school?

Great community college to get your higher learning started. The classrooms are not very large like a traditional university setting so its easier to learn and ask questions if needed. The tuition is very manageable compared to four-year universities and most courses transfer to four-year institutions.

In my time at Lone Star College I had such an amazing experience from my first semester all the way to graduation day. I felt confident on achieving my goals every semester. In fact, during my first semester I was offered a job as an admissions assistant. This job transformed me into well-rounded student personally and academically. Academic Advisors and Counselors were available and assigned to you to help you finish your degree plan on time. From student life, organizations, group projects, student involvement, fundraisers, campaign, art festivals, project expositions, playing sports, Lone Star College had many many personal and professional enrichment opportunities. One of the reasons for which I attended a community college first before transferring to a 4-year University was mainly because of the lack of information and overall the lack of resources from the high school that I was attending at the time. I pushed myself and manage to graduate from Lone Star College with an Associate’s of Arts in 2010. As a first-generation student having the opportunity to further my knowledge skills within Lone Star College made me a better individual personally and professionally. It allowed me to develop time-management, interaction, public speaking, and many more skills necessary in my daily life. Right after graduation I was offered a full-time job as a rehab specialist on a family owned medical company. The one thing that I remember the most was seeking assistance from our career service center. The SCS center for short helped me create a great resume as well as to practice for the interview process. I highly recommend this college and any of the degrees that it has to offer. Such an amazing school system, best experience ever!
