I love and truly enjoyed the campus. It is very nature like and the people are friendly. Lone Star College care more about acadamics and pursuing a major than anything else.

I was new to the area and the Lone Star College System was where I wanted to enroll. It serves as a stepping stone for me to complete the classes I need to complete before I transfer to the University of Houston's Main Campus. The Lone Star College System already had a transfer program to the University of Houston so I can follow a track record of all the classes I need to take and make sure they are the course equivalent classes for my major, so I won't have to repeat any of the classes when I transfer.

It's a good place to get started but not somewhere I'd recommend for anyone trying to pursue a full education, especially not for a fine arts related major. The campus is rather small and parking is a bit of a hassle, though it is a community college so I suppose that's normal.

This college is a great starter school where with many locations around the Houston Area. They have a variety of class times to meet everyone's busy schedule. I was able to complete my associates degree while working full time without any issues. Classes are very affordable.

As a community college, they serve their purpose. They're affordable and they get the job done. But the quality of the job done? Questionable. I don't feel they necessarily prepare students for the rigor of attending a 4 year university. However, they make a great stepping stone between high school and university. Many young adults who go straight to University end up having a difficult time and dropping out quickly. This is a good stepping stone between the 2 levels of work loads.

When it comes to professors and their office hours, they are always there. There's also good help outside the classrooms like our MACLAB, which is where they help in math. Cafeteria is mall, and the food is a little pricy. There's no fights or anything dangerous happening on campus, so you'll feel safe. The library at North Harris is great and has several books and a workshop. Overall, I'm gad I go here.

I really like this school, I'm starting out small before I hit the big leagues, as in after I'm done with Lone Star, I'm attending U of H or Texas Christian University . I like Lone Star because I get to meet people from all over the world with out having to travel to meet them, yet. I encourage everyone who wants to attend college to start of at Lone star.

As a new student entering into the college life, I cannot help but be nervous about what is to come. Lone Star College-North Harris is the closest establishment to my house, as it is 10 minutes away, and it’s very convenient for me as I can save money other then moving out to be closer to the school. As I pursue the degree of becoming a paralegal, I see there are a variety of other opportunities and careers that a student can choose from. From the medical field to the technology field. It is the student’s passion that’ll help them grow into the career and learn so much more about it. As I applied to my classes at Lone Star, the staff there were very kind and helpful to establish the classes I needed to take and offered suggestions that would fit my schedule once I have a job. Although it is best to have three classes, to begin with, I choose to have four classes as not only will it speed up my education, but it will be beneficial for me to push forward and face challenges that will make me stronger. Just by visiting the campus by itself and attending dual credit classes in high school, I can have a head start in the new chapter in my life. Having an education is crucial to step into the real world. Lone Star College will be the place where I can become a better person and pursue the career that will help the community and society.

What is your overall opinion of this school?

Had an awful experience. During hurricane Harvey, I was stuck out of town and when I got back, I had to start school a few days late. Music department was uncompassionate. Choir director Mr. Marotto runs the music department and he was very arrogant, impatient, and took my education very trivial. I tried to take care of things by email and he would respond to emails incompletely which delayed me preparing a head of time. I'm already a teacher and I was going back to expand my education. When I told him I was having communication problems with theory teacher Mr. Walsh, he told me the teacher is not going any where, that I should go find another school location because he doesn't have time for this. My problem with Mr. Walsh was similar. I then tried to talk to dean, and beware because the Dean was only an advocate for the teacher and told me I could drop out if I wanted to. She stood behind her teachers regardless of what I said. I seemed like they could have slapped me and she would have supported them. I actually became very emotional because I was really determined to return to school and get a music degree. They seem to only want to deal with children fresh out of high school and not adults. I'm 28. I was left with no choice but to drop classes and leave. How little they cared about my future and goals was heartless and shameful. I can't believe these types of people can be educators. This was a sorry excuse of a school and a disgrace of the human race. There are many loopholes in your school program and students suffer. You don't know how many students they have treated the way I was treated. And when we are successful... it will be without these teachers help. Students should record conversations with everyone who works there so you have records.
