Lone Star College System is a great community college. I have been there for one semester so far to do my basics and I love it. I do most of my courses online and the professors are always available and an email away to answer questions. The courses are not too challenging, but they are slightly challenging and easy to balance a job and schoolwork.

Great community college to get your higher learning started. The classrooms are not very large like a traditional university setting so its easier to learn and ask questions if needed. The tuition is very manageable compared to four-year universities and most courses transfer to four-year institutions.

It is a very welcoming and thrilling environment to be a part of. Students are kind and professors are respectful. There is plenty of groups and activities on campus as well. There are constant plays and events during the semester. There is room for everyone here.

In my time at Lone Star College I had such an amazing experience from my first semester all the way to graduation day. I felt confident on achieving my goals every semester. In fact, during my first semester I was offered a job as an admissions assistant. This job transformed me into well-rounded student personally and academically. Academic Advisors and Counselors were available and assigned to you to help you finish your degree plan on time. From student life, organizations, group projects, student involvement, fundraisers, campaign, art festivals, project expositions, playing sports, Lone Star College had many many personal and professional enrichment opportunities. One of the reasons for which I attended a community college first before transferring to a 4-year University was mainly because of the lack of information and overall the lack of resources from the high school that I was attending at the time. I pushed myself and manage to graduate from Lone Star College with an Associate’s of Arts in 2010. As a first-generation student having the opportunity to further my knowledge skills within Lone Star College made me a better individual personally and professionally. It allowed me to develop time-management, interaction, public speaking, and many more skills necessary in my daily life. Right after graduation I was offered a full-time job as a rehab specialist on a family owned medical company. The one thing that I remember the most was seeking assistance from our career service center. The SCS center for short helped me create a great resume as well as to practice for the interview process. I highly recommend this college and any of the degrees that it has to offer. Such an amazing school system, best experience ever!

I love it! It is close to home so the commute is really easy. The campus itself is beautiful and the teachers are excellent. Some of the student centers are student run, so finding help is not that hard. We all have it made where we work with each other, not against each other and that is the type of environment you can thrive in.

Lone Star College System is a community college that provides all students of all ages access to valuable education and knowledge to give them a chance at a good future. I especially enjoyed the diversity that the campus promoted, as I was able to meet, interact and learn with people of different age, ethnicity and religion. The smaller class sizes also gave an more intimate learning experience and created a more engaging learning environment. Lastly, the campus is always clean and looks beautiful!

its a good way to save money , small classrooms which really helps when it comes to 1 on 1 with the professors, the payment plans help a lot specially when you are a low income person , and an amazing way to earn your basic credits to if you plan on transferring to a 4-year university.

What is your overall opinion of this school?

When a calm, breezy morning welcomes you to the earlier classes, the Lone Star Montgomery campus consists of pure serenity. Around the start of the afternoon, the campus becomes alive with several students adventuring to their first classes, promoting student involvement, and working hard among the halls of each building. While unexpected, attending Lone Star for the current fall semester has been a true wonder. As I have met numerous students from a variety of backgrounds, I have become increasingly open minded. Similarly, having learned various reasons for others’ continuing their education has also allowed me to realize the endless opportunities the world can offer. Because I began the semester in specified courses for science majors, it has been especially easy to discover new friends with similar interest and work ethics. Although the students I have come across are a major reason that I maintain an excellent view of Lone Star, the professors and administrators are also exceptional. As I continue my pre-medical journey through advanced science and mathematic courses, all of my professors have been more than willing to assist with any difficulties students may be having. Most of the professors are constantly available while others continue their availability through their office hours. These professors care about educating their students and consistently go beyond to help them. With a friendly and respectful manner, these professors allow their students to enjoy even their most difficult courses. Since I became enrolled in Lone Star, I have experienced a minimal amount of issues, all of which have been solely concentrated in the financial aid department. Excellent advisors also may be difficult to find; however, fortunately, I was able to be assisted by one from the beginning. Most aspects of this college are spectacular, and I am grateful to have the opportunity to experience them.

On my visit to the campus I experienced a very clean and safe campus. The staff were very nice and the atmosphere was very welcoming. Being a campus that is close to my residence and much more affordable than other colleges I believe that it is the best way to start college.

This school is all what each person makes it out to be. I personally, think it's a great school to get undergrad classes done. If I knew someone looking to get a start at higher education, I would definitely recommend it to any family member or friend.
