Throughout my many years of learning, I've always found my way back to LFCC. From the online college classes during senior year of high school, to summer coarse to accelerate the degree process at universities, to enrolling full time for an associates degree, LFCC is for everyone. Personally, I have taken different classes to explore several different degrees and I have found one common theme. The teachers love what they do. They are passionate about what they teach which creates an excitement in the classroom unlike many universities. I have attended four different colleges and universities and the faculty doesn't even compare. The class sizes are small, so the professors take the time to learn students names and a little about each one. They also make themselves extremely available for students. They want their students to learn, and you can tell.
It gets the job done. Most professors are willing to work with you and hold reasonable office hours. Most are very laid-back, just show up, take notes, and study a bit; you'll be good to go.
There are few clubs and student activities, though none of any interest. Most of the student population is there to get their degree and move on and are not highly involved or interested in anything else. There is a very minimal sports life taking place only at the main campus.
For freshmen going in I would suggest you relax, LFCC is easy to enter and the office staff is helpful in administering financial aid and helping with admissions. Just go in serious about your education, and they'll be sure to help you in any way you need.
Lord Fairfax is a good community college. It has a variety of activities to participate in and good professors.
I would highly recommend Lord Fairfax Community College. I have been going there for three years now, and I can say I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it. Everyone is warm and welcoming, including the teachers. I loved most of my teachers. They were always there if I needed help with anything. I never stopped learning once I started going here.
The fall 2020 acceptance rate for Lord Fairfax Community College is 100%. That means, out of _____ applications received in 2020 , _____ students were offered admission. The number of males who applied was _____ vs the number of females which was _____.
Dear High School Self,
Please don't hesitate to start your college education right away. I realize that you may want a break or a year off from school prior to starting your college education. A lot can happen in a years time that may prevent you from attending college. The sooner you begin your education the sooner you will graduate and attain your degree.
Lord Fairfax Community College is best known for its friendly atmosphere and the way it helps prepare students who are looking to go to a 4-year college by saving money and allowing them to earn a higher GPA. It also prepares its students for the larger classes of Universities by allowing them to become familiar with average class sizes first. It is an excellent choice to begin your college career with, reducing the concern of being overwhelmed.
i wish i had know what i wanted to do in my future. sense all the teachers and falculty is such a great help pointing you towards what you need to do to graduate and move on, i wish i had known i wanted to be a teacher so that i would have better prepared myself towards what all i needed to do.
The worst thing about my college is that I will have to transfer to another college to attain my bachelors.
I actually believe that everyone should attend this school because it is a very nice environment for students to learn and be able to better educate themselves. it is also a school for where adults can come back to school where everyone is there to help you better yourselve and point you towards the right direction to where you want to go.
My classmates are very independent and interesting people that are extremely helpful when it comes to advice and studying for exams.
When I talk about Lord Fairfax Community College I talk about their dual-enrollment program. I was able to complete high school and, at the same time, take a couple of college classes at the same time. I now have all of my basic classes done as well as a few more difficult classes. Basically, Lord Fairfax allowed me to get a head start on college. I like to tell my friends that I have one less year of college to left complete than they do.
Lord Fairfax is small and provides a student with a very personal experiance, and for me the most important thing is that it keeps me close to home. Lord Fairfax is versitile and allows people from all walks of life to come together. In my time there I have come across the mother trying to provide for her children after the loss of her spouse, people who were kicked out at the age of 18 and still pursue and education, people who aren't ready for change, and those who simple don't have the finances.
The versatality of my college is what I like the most about it. Lord Fairfax Community College has a very diverse group of student from all walks of life. The staff and proffesors are very eager to help each and every student succeed. The advisors always make themselves available to council anyone that may have questions about attaining their degree. They genuinely care for their students sucess.
The most frustrating aspect about my school has nothing to do with the quality of education. I find that most professors will go out of their way to make sure you have the opportunity to succeed if you're willing to put in the effort. The most frustrating thing about school is seeing other people who just don't care about their grades or what happens. I am a first generation college student, and it breaks my heart that other students don't realize just how wonderful the opportunity of college really is.
