I do feel like the los angeles film school is overall a very great school, I love the digital literacy course which is very nice and a very great class especially with communicating with my classmates, who are in that field, digital filmmaking has always been my passion, and it is very enjoyable i loved editing with lightworks, finalcutpro filmora and more which i would post videos on the platform youtube and i would practice effects and lots of things, with those softwares but i would like to learn how to edit with finalcutpro a lot more, so that i can get the hang of it also with adobe premiere pro so that i can do more in the filmmaking industry overall, this school is very good their are nice people nice instructors and i do enjoy the classes a lot, which they are very entertaining, it is a very pricey school, but i have been applying for scholarships. to get this all sorted out and payed off. before april but i will plan to do a new start date in june. and your departments are also very helpful. especially for online students like me.

I think the school is fantastic based on my previous inquiries from other art school. They dont waste time with unnessessary classes, teachers and student are nice and help full and the school even provides top quality equipment for our studies. I've learned more here at this school than I would if I hadn't attended.

Jesse - 12/17/2020

It is a wonderful and amazing school that focuses and allows students to learn, cultivate, explore and gain the ability to express themselves through film and study on the many facets of filmmaking.

  2. What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

If I could go back in time and tell myself something I would just tell myself to have as many doors open as possible. I seem to have left only one door open because I though I was doing the right thing. I would tell myself to leave every single other option open just incase I needed them.

  5. What's unique about your campus?

In just nine months, I've learned more about the film industry than I 've ever learned about any one subject in my entire educational career. It's like Hollywood Boot Camp, only delightful and rewarding. I honestly feel like I've been given the hands-on skills required for my dream career. The impressive faculty are approachable, experienced, and connected professionals, whom are more than willing to help students reach their goals however possible. This school goes beyond conventional academia to a kinethestic, interactive, on-the-job training education. Overall, it's an ideal college experience.

  6. What's the one thing you wish someone had told you about freshman year?

Honestly, part of the excitement of coming to this school was the unknown factor, so there isn't much I wish I had known prior to moving out to Hollywood. The negative side has mostly been unable to have any control over classmates's maturity levels and work ethic, and being at their mercy because you have the same classmates year-round. I do wish I had taken a film theory class prior to this school, just to be on familiar terms with more revolutionary filmmakers and their craft, but it's not an absolute necessity, just a bonus.

  7. What's the most frustrating thing about your school?

It is located in Hollywood and I have found the cost of living in Los Angeles to be very high compare to other cities. There are no dorm facilities available and some of the surrounding housing options are either too expensive or at a great distance from the school.
