Lower Columbia College is an extremely good college. I have had an amazing experience there over the past two years. I am currently in Running start meaning I am in high school participating in the AA Dual Enrollment. So far every professor I have had has been amazing. Always available and happy to help whenever you need them.

It is a good campus, with plenty of people who are very willing to help confused students. Many of the professors will be very happy to help if you show that you are interested and tried to learn on your own. There are free tutoring services offered in the library, which can be helpful.

Lower Columbia college is a small community college but big enough to meet new people. I think our professors are overall average. In the financial aid aspect I think it could improve. Lcc has great potential, especially in health science. Our nursing program is one of the best and very competitive.

Lower Columbia College FAQS

  1. What is the Acceptance Rate at Lower Columbia College?

The fall 2020 acceptance rate for Lower Columbia College is 100%. That means, out of _____ applications received in 2020 , _____ students were offered admission. The number of males who applied was _____ vs the number of females which was _____.

  2. What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

If I could go back to high school and talk to myself I would have so much to say. I would start by saying pay attention. Pay attention to the teachers that are there trying to help you learn information you really will need in college and in life. Pay attention to your parents, they really do know what they are talking about. Pay attention to your books and studies, grades really will count. Looking at your transcripts eighteen years after you graduate will be an eye opener and an ego deflater. I would go on to say that college right after high school seems so hard but it really would be the easier route. Struggling to raise kids and keep the wolves at bay and then playing catch up when you finally get the chance to get back to school is the hard way. And finally, you really are to smart to not show it. Spend the time early and enjoy being in school, there is plenty of time to be an adult. . . after school.

  3. What kind of person should attend this school?

I think that Lower Columbia college is a very diverse school. I have only been in the school for two weeks and yet I have met many different people with many different areas of intrest. kids just out of high school to grand parents all working hard at furthering thier education. I think the best type of person to attend this school is someone with an open mind and an excitement to learn in a fun, friendly environment.

  5. What's unique about your campus?

Since it?s a Community College, the best thing about it is its willingness to provide a valuable resource for the community. Heading back to school at the age of 50, to reinvent myself, after a long term career has ended; the school is working hard to help me on my feet academically. I've got teachers and advisers who are going beyond the call of duty to help me resurrect an almost 30 year old college education, far exceeding their mandate as educators to do so. They?re putting the word "community" back into Community College.

  6. What's the one thing you wish someone had told you about freshman year?

I wish I had had a little better understanding of the course work, and had been better prepared for what was to be expected of me.

  7. What do you consider the worst thing about your school? Why?

I don't think there is enough staff. I have herd about budget cutbacks, and with enrollment as high as it has ever been, students waiting for financial aid have to wait longer than normal. It's not out of the ordinary to wait in line for an hour or more in the financial aid line.

  8. What do you brag about most when you tell your friends about your school?

I tell my friends about my classes and how I am doing. I have really suprised myself by doing very well and making the Dean's List.

Lower Columbia College is located an hour away from any other college. It is a rural area that is in need of educational opportunities. The college offers many degrees and vocations but the one thing that truly makes it origional is the new ROAN program. It is a nursing program for people that live in rural areas to get thier degree while working. Mixing both classroom and online studies to help students work in lower income areas while helping to pay for student loans.
