Loyola University New Orleans Top Questions

What do you brag about most when you tell your friends about your school?

Justine

The music scene is amazing. This is a school for music lovers, there is always someone playing or making music, and there is always a show just a few miles away.

Natalie

The first thing I brag about when I tell people about my university is the music program. We have an amazing music program. The teachers are very generous in their constructive criticism because they actually care about you. They are not afraid to tell you what you are doing incorrectly and quick to tell you how to improve and they are appreciated for it. After that comes the cafeteria, OR as we call it. It is so good and has so many options that the Tulane students from next door eat in there more often than in their own cafeteria.

Rachel

I dont really brag about much but being able to say i attend Loyola University makes me feel proud since it is such a high regarded school acidemically .

Julie

It's like a different country down here. The drinking age is pretty much understood to be 18.

Micaela

I brag out how beautiful and intimate the campus is; it's very small, but the perfect size for me. All of the teachers I've had are experts in their field, and the financial aid and scholarships are more than helpful, and keep me comfortable. Also, it's more about the extra curricular activities and opportunities at this school, more so than the academic elements. I brag about how I have helped to start various student-run choirs, performances, and the musical theatre organization and program. I hold leadership positions for the first time in my life!

Weigert

I'm in New Orleans!

Robert

Great social environment, excellent professors.

Amber

My school has many diverse people. There is a group for everyone. No one is ever left out. The academic courses are challegning yet reasonable. You learn what is necesary and then some. Overall I love where I go to school and I would recommend it to anyone. Greek life doesn't play a huge role in campus life. In fact only ablout 20{4a082faed443b016e84c6ea63012b481c58f64867aa2dc62fff66e22ad7dff6c} of the student body iis Greek.

Jessica

I brag about the computer lab exclusively for graphic design students.

Hope

How laid back everyone is, how friendly and open to new things people are, the ability to go out any night of the week and have a blast with your friends, as well getting a good education

William

Lots and lots of booze!!!!!

Maria

I brag about the community. We are such a diverse group of students, professors, and people in the community. Here at the university, people are involved in so much community service, sports, and special projects related to their fields. As a Music Ed major, there are programs that go out to schools in need and assist teachers! There's just so much out here for every major. Everyone here really loves calling Loyola home. We evacuated recently, and it's so uplifting how much people worked together, and came right back to the school they love.

Mark

You have four years to be irresponsible here. Relax. Work is for people with jobs. You'll never remember class time, but you'll remember the time you wasted hanging out with your friends. So stay out late. Go out with your friends on a Tuesday when you have a paper due Wednesday. Spend money you don't have. Drink till sunrise. The work never ends, but college does.

Anne

We have very small class sizes, particularly once you get into your major classes.

Cecilia

Despite the constrictingly small size of Loyola, I can still brag that I know I made the right decision. Even when Loyola University feels more like Loyola Junior High, I still feel a sense of being at home on campus.

Helen

I first talk about the great city of New Orleans. Then I tell them about how Loyola focuses on teaching students to think critically, and question everything we read. The teachers want us engaged in classes, so discussions are common. The class sizes are perfect: 30 people at the most. Many teachers want to get to know you for who you are, and that is really important to me. I also love MARDI GRAS! Its the most wonderful time of the year!
