LCU provides excellent student:teacher ratios that give each student the opportunity to have the attention they need. I have built relationships with my professors that will last a lifetime. I have now been gone for nearly 10 years and anytime I see a former professor or college staff member, they are genuinely interested in how my life is going and what is happening.
I enjoy attending this school, it is very engaging even when I didn't want to be engaged. I love it! The people are very encouraging and loving. The academics are challenging but there is not an extreme amount of work placed on the students. There is always somewhere to go, and some activity to participate in.
It is a great school with great professors and students. The faculty and staff are among the best people I have ever encountered in my life. I love the people and they help my love school and to love to learn. I wish there were more opportunities for students living at home or off campus, but it is my opinion that the people make Lubbock Christian University what it is.
It's a great school If you are looking to get to know lots of friendly people, and have a professor that cares about you both in and outside the classroom. There is always something to do whether it's going out in the city or going to an event on campus.
The fall 2020 acceptance rate for Lubbock Christian University is 95%. That means, out of _____ applications received in 2020 , _____ students were offered admission. The number of males who applied was _____ vs the number of females which was _____.
You will never be fully prepared. Don't misunderstand me; preparation is wise. Do your research and do not procrastinate. But realize, putting something off until you are "fully prepared" is a form of procrastination in and of itself. Do not allow a fear of failure to keep you from trying. Better to flounder and learn than to never succeed, because you never even tried. Set goals and deadlines. Give yourself adequate time to prepare - then make an attempt when you reach your deadline. We learn best through experience, and life is experience. Allow yourself to live.
Lubbock Christian University is the ideal place to be part of a great learning experience while also making some of the best memories to carry through life.
Very social, someone who wants a lot of involvement and a small town feel
In general a lot of the people at LCU are Christians. People are friendly, and it is easy to make friends.
The best thing about Lubbock Christian University is the ease of communication between faculty/staff and students. The faculty are available to the students and the teach/student ratio is such that it is very easy to ask questions and get a better understanding of what is being taught. The faculty are also involved in the lives of their students. They are encouraging and are involved in the lives of the students on and off campus. Close relationships between faculty and students helps students make better grades and prepares them for their future jobs.
The worst thing here (and it was actually hard to think about this one) would be the dorms. The girls' dorms have been around since at least the 60s, and they haven't changed much. The dorms carry an affectionate feel for a few family a friends that have attended here, and for the professors as well, but for the most part it's annoying when you try to turn down the air conditioning and you end up turning on the heater, and it makes the room stink. Other than that, this school is absolutely amazing! I call it home.
very friendly, always accepting, lots of fun times
I wish I would have known how conservative it is. There are a lot of rules.
I think a person who isn’t willing to put the work in to their future should not attend this school. I feel that any person who doesn’t want to put the work in, stay motivated to achieve or attend classes should not attend any college. College is meant to help individuals achieve brighter futures.
Our school is best known for the quality teachers who graduate from it. The schools in the school districts in and around Lubbock will generally hire a LCU graduate before a student from the several other colleges and universities in our area because of the reputation of the education department. The Bible department also provides quality ministers to churches in the area and far away.
From my initial visit, to my admissions process, to technical questions that have risen over the last several months, I have discovered that Lubbock Christian University is a step above universities. I have been treated with the upmost respect, courteousy, and kindness each time I have entered a building on campus and have never been ignored or left without my problem being corrected or addressed. The staff truly goes above and beyond what normal universities offer and do for prospective and current students. You are treated as a person, not a number or a bank account.
One thing that is frustrating about LCU is probably the same for almost any campus: comfortability to open up. Yes, the campus is full of beautiful people and everyone gets along, but everyone has their own groups with their own title. It's only a little frustrating to see this because judging becomes a part of it and this being a Christian campus can be seen as hypocritical. I love the people but I do not like to see everyone's seperation, but that is only my perspective. I love the campus and everyone that is a part of it.
