I believe lyon is a great school, love the campus and all the activities they offer. the town it is in is kinda dead and smelly because of the chicken plant next door. there are parties on the weekends and lots of outdoor activities. but school is kinda going downhill bc they are going d3, but new administration is coming !

Lyon College is a nice place if you're not looking for a huge school. The students are all very nice and it can feel like a large school at times with the small atmosphere. There's hundreds of groups on campus to partake in such as band or sports. With the growing sports scene at the school, we've become a lot of school spirited instead of only worrying about the next exam. Many of the students at the school are serious about their future and you find very little people who try to bring you down.

I attended Lyon College for my first semester of my freshman year and I thoroughly enjoyed my experience there. It was a fun experience the teachers were really great and the class sizes were excellent. The campus life was also really great I made lots of new friends. I enjoyed it very much.

The professors are great...for the most part anyway. There a couple that not everyone likes, but this is probably because they are just in the shadows of truly amazing people who will go out of their way to help you learn and really make you feel at home here.

  2. What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

Dear High School Self, You have what it takes to succeed in college, RELAX. However, your people-pleasing habit has to go. You are very capable of doing whatever it is they want you to do, but you need time for you. Don't worry about what mom and dad, fellow students, or the faculty will think. They understand! You were not put on Earth to be Superwoman. Doing all those extra projects aren't really going to help you win any scholarships. Stick with what you are passionate about. Have time for yourself, and thank Mr. Sours for everything that he'll do for you. Remember that time management is very important, and your goal is pharmacy school. Biochemistry degrees are not achieved on desire alone. Love yourself, respect yourself, and be honest with yourself. You'll know what you need to do and when. Love, Christie

  4. What do you consider the worst thing about your school? Why?

I believe the worse thing about my school is the cafeteria. It's good on some days. There's not a big variety to choose from and there is a lot of carbs. Most students are trying to be healthy and it's hard to eat healthy in the cafeteria. The salad is not always fresh. The juice is sometimes very watery. The food has no flavor sometimes or is just really dry or cold.

  6. Describe your favorite campus traditions.

Well I knew it for the academia. The school is pretty tough, definately not a party school. I remember when I was enrolling that I was really impressed with numbers like 100{4a082faed443b016e84c6ea63012b481c58f64867aa2dc62fff66e22ad7dff6c} acceptance rates into law schools. Lyon is tough, really hard work but gives a major advantage.

  14. What do you brag about most when you tell your friends about your school?

Of all things I have to say about Lyon College, it is the talent of my proffesors that I tend to brag on the most. Though all are exceptional staff that teach in a way that goes far beyond:good enough," the man who I especially admire is Dr. Terrell Tebbets. This a professor that students request not with intention of getting an easy A, but quite the opposite. Dr. Tebbets is the example of what Lyon faculty are all about. He teaches with passion and intelligence. He grades hard, but with justice. He makes one be their best.
