People who are lazy and don't want to work hard are the kinds of people who shouldn't go to Maine Maritime Academy. Most of the majors at MMA are set up so that the students have to become part of the regiment where you'll have to wear a uniform and take orders. You also will have to get up earlier for muster and such so those who don't like taking orders or getting up early also shouldn't go to Maine Maritime.

Everybody should definitely try to attend this school, however those who don't wish to work hard, and can't handle a very rural and quiet environment shouldn't.

If you can?t devote your whole self, body and soul to your major at Maine Maritime you shouldn?t be here. This school is training its students to be true professionals in the maritime industry. If you're the type of person that doesn?t like to get a little dirty and can't handle a real challenge then this school may not be for you. Though, the school offers, what some may consider, "soft" majors; touchy, feely, artsy, liberal hippie-type students should NOT attend. They will be far outnumbered and will not feel at home. They can only succeed if they have leather skin and a desire to be, for the most part, alone.
