Manhattanville College Top Questions

What's the most frustrating thing about your school?

Chelsea

The most frusturating thing about my school is the campus security. If you want to even have a family member stay over its a process and papers need to be filled out where as when I go to my friends school its so simple you just sign them on a peice of paper. Sometimes it can be overwhelming when you just want to come into school go to your room and hangout with your guest and you have to go through this lng process.

I would not say there is anything frustrating about my school just yet, since I have only been attending for such short period of time (one semester), but if I should pick one, it would be that whenever I have an essay or a paper assigment to do for one class, there is always other essays coming up in my other classes. Its frustrating having three paper due on the same day; however, this is just the begining of my college career.

In my opinion, one of the best things about the school is one of the worst things about the school. For example, Manhattanville College is a small college and that is a good thing academically and not as good socially. The teachers know who you are when you attend classes and it makes it easier to learn because the classes are small. However, when you go back to the dorms and live your life outside of class, it is difficult to keep certain things to yourself. Some people like to be discreet about their personal life which is difficult there.

The most frustrating thing is the cost. The tuition is about $30,000 per year for a full time undergraduate student. It is very difficult to pay.

Gina

Sometimes the small size can be frustrating. You tend to see the same people all day.

Nancy

Food is too expensive.

Mary

What is most frustrating to me at Manhattanville College is the lack of school-provided transportation off campus. We have a bus that only runs in the late afternoons and throughout the night, which is helpful. However, many students have jobs in neighboring cities such as White Plains, or Port Chester, or some also need to get to New York City for internships and rely on the train (which is located in White Plains) as a means of doing so. I believe that the "Valiant Bus" should have a 24-hour service that runs into White Plains.

Paul

Sometimes it can seem too small, especially with the low attendance at sporting events which doesn't help with school spirit.

Gabrielle

The size- too small

David

Ummm...not sure.
