Manhattanville College Top Questions

What are the academics like at your school?

Keston

Because Mville is a smaller school most professors know your name and your classes are generally pretty small. some classes your study alot more than others, but that mostly depends on the professor. some professor's have test just about every two weeks, others just have a midterm and a final and others just have you do papers without any midterm or final. Professor are very active on campus, some come to student held events to give their perspectives and others are very friendly and speak to student about anything. they are very helpful and willing to stay with you after class to clear up something u may have problems with or just if u have questions.

The class size at Manhattanville is usually 25 students to one professor, and even less than that at most times when you start concentrating in classes specifically for your major. I feel like it depends on what your major is in terms of how much you study; like I feel like the biochemistry and physics majors are ALWAYS studying in comparison to a communications major, for example. As for my major department, I really like how close we are to our professors and what we learn in each class, despite how difficult it can get. We have A LOT of academic requirements which seem impossible to complete on top of my major and minor, but it's totally doable.

Academics are mad easy for the most part. You have to work to get all A's but even then it's doable. Professors are pretty good for the most part but a couple are apathetic and don't really teach. Students are not competitive with each other and quite frankly don't really seem to push themselves that much either. Some do but most don't. The education program is very strong, however, and is well-reputed within the surrounding area, so if you want to be a teacher here is a great place to go. The academic requirements are pretty chill-ax and you don't even have to take a foreign language, but apparently they've gotten stricter on that since I've left.
