Manhattanville College Top Questions

What do you brag about most when you tell your friends about your school?

Darcy

Manhattanville College is a small college. Due to its size, teacher to student ratio is small; students are able to receive individualized attention to their educational needs. The largest class I attended had about 50-60 students; not like the 100+ students in some larger universities. A second advantage to the small student body is a great sense of community. Most everyone knows one another giving the campus a tight-knit community feelling.

I tell them that the classes are really small so you have a lot more interaction and help from your professors. I also tell them that the campus has a gorgeous castle on it which really makes for interesting Halloween events and history discussions of the school. Additionally, there are many international students so you have a very diverse group of people to interact with whether it is in the classroom, in the hallways, or in the lunch room. The professors are really helpful and willing to work with their students one on one at any time.

I am a student who has never done my best in a larger classroom. Most of Manhattanville College's class sizes contain no more than 25. This is the perfect amount for me, which was one of the greatest reasons why I became attracted to Manhattanville. Also, I have always been a student highly involved in the arts and sports. Throughout high school I found myself disappointed because it was hard to be activce in both areas. At Manhattanville, I can experience being a player on a varsity sport while also studying my greatest passion- music.

Jennifer

The diversity on cmapus and the community service programs.

Cari

David

I brag the most about the number of international students that we have and all of the different countries where they come from. I am especially proud to say "Oh, my friend Jane Doe is from Tanzania" or "My classmate John Doe is from Japan". I love how all of the cultures mesh together. I also love how the professors recgonize our culutral diversity, but they also recognize that we are all pretty similar despite our origins.
