I think Methodist University is a great school with an overall very positive environment. The people are extremely friendly and the professors are always willing to lend their students a helping hand. I remember one specific moment when I emailed my professor quite late at night, not really expecting him to respond back until the next day. However, he responded probably about an hour or two later to answer my question. To me, this was a very significant moment in my college experience because it showed how dedicated my professor was to helping me with a question I had. He didn't need to respond to me then (especially considering it was past midnight) but he did and that meant a lot to me. Overall, I think Methodist is a great place if you like a small, close-knitted environment and if your primary focus is academics.

Tiana - 03/16/2021

My opinion on Methodist University is it's the perfect school if you're looking for classes with fewer students and more 1 on 1 with your professor. If you tend to learn better with fewer students and being able to contact your professor then Methodist is for you.

I think that Methodist is unique in its ability to provide an indepth education on many aspects of life, not just the subject matter being taught. The care and attention of all the professors as well as support staff make it easy to navigate the sometimes confusing steps that mut be taken in order to be admitted, register, take classes and so on. From the business office down to the secretaries for individual departments, everyone cares.

  14. What are the academics like at your school?

Classes are small, with only 15-20 students being the most common "huge" class. But most classes are smaller than that. Their isn't a whole lot of drama and everyone gets along like family within the buildings and around campus as a whole. There's a lot of class participation, even from students who don't like to talk a lot (I used to be one of those students who just sat in the back of class and stayed quiet during high school.) Students are competitive here and they also like to help boost other students up as well. I am currently majoring in Graphic Design and I love my department and the students and professors that make up the building. We are like one big family and we often hang around each other even outside of instructional time. The classes are't easy, but you definitely walk away with more understanding of the subject and with improvement.

  15. What are the most popular student activities/groups?

  16. What is your overall opinion of this school?

It's an awesome school, I absolutely love it! It's not a big school, the classes are fairly small. That's a plus because your professor gets to interact with all of the students and help them achieve their goals. The campus is very clean and it has beautiful landscaping; they just added a whole lot of trees, bushes, and flowers around campus too, adding to the look of the school. The most frequent complaint about the school is that is costs way too much to attend, or to stay. It is a private university, but it's one of the better education quality and safest schools in Fayetteville. The only problem is is costs over $30,000 a year and the tuition continues to go up every year. So most people have to settle for the other colleges around Fayetteville instead or go elsewhere.

  17. What is the stereotype of students at your school? Is this stereotype accurate?

"Rich folk" is the most common stereotype. It's not necessarily true, but people do have money to be able to go here, or they're taking out HUGE amounts of student loans to go/stay here.
