What's the one thing you wish someone had told you about freshman year at Metropolitan Community College-Maple Woods?

Before I got to a Community College, I wish I would have known how different it would be, not only from high school, but even a University. The majority of the students attending a Community College are not there for the social aspect; they are there because it is what is best for them financially. I did not realize that it would be a little more difficult to meet people at such a small school. I also wish I would have known how different getting involved would be. There are no campus dorms or Greek life to interact.

I wish I would have known that college courses really are more difficult than high school courses. I did well in high school without much work, and I figured college would be the same. This resulted in a 2.5 gpa for my first semester in college.
