I loved Metropolitan State University. I wanted to pursue a Master's of Social Work degree after I obtained my BSW, but at that time, they did not offer one. The professors were great, available, and very knowledgeable. The staff was diverse and from different cultural backgrounds. The class size was just the right size. The campus was close and easy to navigate around with an underground tunnel, which was great for winter. I would definitely recommend this school to anyone.

Bayan - 01/09/2020

I think it needs more events and campus food for student, its so bad how they really cannot manage that really fast. I was on campus and I had to leave to go get food in between classes, and sometimes I do not want to be late or miss class so it was frustrating.

Clarissa - 10/22/2019

I was excited at first, but then problem after problem came in. They messed up my financial aid and they don't have an office on campus, the bookstore is rude and chaos (found out it is not even apart of the campus) and there is no amenities available outside of the school store. My community college had more to offer then this 4 year college. I was very disappointed, and there have been attacks on the campus as well and robberies which has made me nervous about going to school. My overall opinion is that they need to take a time to redo their campus to their best ability, yes they keep it simple so it is affordable but all of the issues that come with that lead people to other schools and that wont keep the campus doors open.

Metropolitan State University FAQS

  1. What is the Acceptance Rate at Metropolitan State University?

The fall 2020 acceptance rate for Metropolitan State University is 100%. That means, out of _____ applications received in 2020 , _____ students were offered admission. The number of males who applied was _____ vs the number of females which was _____.

  2. What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

Save as much money as possible to put towards things like books, you don't need the pretty folders or matching dishes. You want to get by with as little debt as possible so you are not stuck in with it forever. It is ok to be yourself, in high school you may not have experience peer preasure but if you get into the wrong group of friends in college they could lead you on a path you don't want to go on. It is ok if you don't go out drinking, if you feel it is best to stay home with a movie or to study then do it. They are not your firends if they think that is lame and try to guilt you into doing something they don't want you to do. It will only hurt you in the end, they don't care about what is best for you. It is ok to be you, and it will take time to figure out who that you is, but don't let you be a product of someone else.

  3. What's unique about your campus?

The flexible schedules they offer is a great thing for me becuase I have to work on top of going to school. I also like that they hold classes in 3+ locations. That also makes for flexible options in the scheduling.

  6. What's the one thing you wish someone had told you about freshman year?

I wish that I knew exactly what degree to go towards before I started at Metro State. Then I would have avoided taking all of the extra classes. I went to another school for a year before this one. It was very much like high school with small groups of people hanging out and going to parties. In my eyes, this isn?t an accurate reflection of the real world. If I had known there was a school like Metro State, I wouldn't have spent that first year at that other school or been so hesitant to go back.

So far I have had mixed feelings from my classmates. Some of them are only going to school because their parent's are making them. with that said, for the most part I have had pretty good luck with classmates. Most of them are willing to learn and apply themselves so that makes for a positive learning environment for all of us.
