The dorms, while very large, are decently tidy and extremely fun to live in. Michigan State's residence life is one of the largest in the nation, and it is in the dorms that you will meet many lifelong friends during your early years at MSU.
The dorm vary wildly. There's no telling what type of situation you'll end up in. It's very hard to answer this question. Basically you'll have enough room to get work done and your room won't be trashy. I lived in the oldest dorm on campus and I loved it. The dorm food is AWESOME in most places. Easily the best part of living on campus.
Eating in the dorms can grow dull, especially if you're constantly eating in the cafeteria. Here's an easy meal that only takes 5 minutes.
MSU has a vast array of dorms on campus, some good, some not so good. Here is an inside look at Owen, Mcdonel, Akers, Hubbard and Holmes.
