Perhaps the most frusturating aspect of Millikin is the lack of full-fledged school spirit; there are no incredible rallies and outpourings of the entire student body together as one.
Residence Hall Housing
The price, and the fact that they funnul students into their overpriced apparments, and refuse to let students get off campus housing dirrectly off campus for a third of the price. Res life is the worst thing about millikin
The most frustrating thing for me was that I was not well-informed about the first few classes I would need to take for being in the Honors Program. Since I did not take the first seminar, I have had trouble getting into the other seminars that I need to take, and I will continue to have trouble for the next four years at Millikin.
The most frustrating thing about my school is not actually the school, but the surounding area. My school is located in a small town in the middle of Illinois, so there isnt much to do in the town.
Decatur is not a very happening town. There isn't much of nightlife, even for those who are of age. The closeness can get a little annoying, but if thats something you like, then its great!
Basically, if it does not benefit Millikin University financially or socially, then they could care less.
The most frustrating thing not recieving enough financial aid to cover my tuition.
The school is way to small. Socially it was a nightmare. Everyone knew everyones business. There is no school spirit what so ever at this school either. People might come to the games but they leave super earlier.
I believe that the most frustrating thing about my school would be the amount that it costs. It is a private school so it's prices are pretty high. I contemplated going to a larger university with a smaller price tag, but looking back I believe that I made the right decision. I do have many student loans both in my name and my parents name and although this has definitely been the biggest frustration about Millikin University, it still does not outweight the positive benefits I have gained from attending this University.
