I like it. I'm not very involved in anything outside of class or things academic-related, so I don't really have much if an opinion on Mississippi College at all. I do plan to get more involved in my sophomore year if/when I make some new friends. It's kind of nerve-racking trying to join a club or tribe and going into it not really knowing anyone, especially since I'm more on the shy side.

I cannot say enough good things about this school. This university is just stellar. They have an outstanding reputation for the quality of their academics. The professors don't have the stereotypical professor vibe. They want the challenge you to think independently and are also there to help when you don't quite understand. The campus life is a blast. The culture is great. The people are great. I LOVE MC!

I think Mississippi College is a great school. Even though I am a commuter, I still feel welcomed. Everyone is so nice and caring. There are so many different cultures and everyone is so nice to one another. I always feel safe on campus with all the security guards. They campus is always clean and well kept. The classes are tough but the teachers are understanding and always helpful. There are certified tutors available anytime to help. I love Mississippi College.

MC is a great place to be. Professors are always ready to help, and students are friendly. It's hard to walk across campus without having at least a few familiar faces greet you with a smile. There are regular events on campus ranging from athletic events to art exhibits. Food in the caf is okay most of the time, but there are other dining options available on campus, too. I really love it here, and I know I'm getting a great education at a reasonable price. This school also really works with you on scholarships.

  6. Describe how your school looks to someone who's never seen it.

The school I plan on attending in the fall semester is very nice. I began to talk to the dean of admissions and the president of the school, and they informed me that i would have a seat reserved for me during the fall semester. Only problem is the money. Their tuition is around 19,000 a year and with me living on my own, it becomes a little difficult to scrape up the money. If possible, please help or at least refer me to someone who might can. Thanks a lot!!

  12. What's the most frustrating thing about your school?

Every school has their highs and lows. Frustrations can be anywhere but it?s our response in how we deal with it that counts. My frustrations are not so much the schools fault but more of a personal issue. It?s hard to enjoy time in college and make friends if money is low on the totem pole. So many thoughts and concerns can come between studies, happiness, relationships. My point is that it?s not MC's fault that my frustrations lie with money but more or so that it?s holding me back from enjoying my time here.

If you are homosexual, lazy, open-minded, love life and want to enjoy your college experience, do not come to Mississippi College. You will not fit in well here.

  14. What is the stereotype of students at your school? Is this stereotype accurate?

Yes, we all know that Mississippi College is a Christian College, but we must also understand that everyone who attends MC is not a christian. I am not saying that this is a bad thing but stereotyping people is not necessary. They think that nothing outside of the bible happens on this campus. Not literally, of course, I am just figuratively speaking. This campus is just like any other college in Mississippi, the only thing that is different is the name of the school. That's all and nothing else. This school has some requirements that sets it apart from other schools, such as, bible courses and chapel. No one should come on this campus and think that every person that goes to school here is a wholesome, christian person because that would be completely untrue.

  15. What are the academics like at your school?

The professors try to develop a close relationship with the students. They have prayer and try to learn everyone's name early in the semester. Class participation is advised and most professors structure lessons to involve everyone. My most unique class was group counseling in where the students formed a counseling group where we talked about life issues. Everything I learned at MC prepared me for my future career.

  16. What are the most popular student activities/groups?

Football is probably the top organization at the school. They sponsor lots of musical events and also let the foreign students organize events to raise cultural awareness. There are always everyday childhood games occurring for students to engage in. Campus security is always visible and they enforce the rules consistently. It is not what I consider a party school, but a social networking school setting.

  17. What is your overall opinion of this school?

I think Mississippi College is a wonderful college. I love it here and the atmosphere here. It's awesome. The campus is beautiful. Most of the teachers here are very helpful and you can gain a relationship with them as well. I love the size of the college and that it can be very close-knit at times and then at other times not so much. This school has a very strenuous curriculum but it is completely worth the hard work. It is hard, but it will pay off in the end, I promise. Some aspects of MC that I would like to see changed is the tuition, of course, and the fact that administration will not give you adequate service unless you are persistent and firm in what you need from them. That has happened to me quite a few times since I have been here. There are many things that MC has to offer and many activities as well. At MC, you will receive the full "college experience." You can join a tribe or club, participate in intramurals, enjoy campus ministries, and you can also join academic clubs too. There is so many opportunities offered here, and they are so much fun to be involved in. Although our football team is not so great, our basketball teams are great. School pride is definitely exemplified at MC. Overall MC is amazing, even if it does have some rough patches.
