Anyone that is not serious about school and wanting to earn a degree
Most of the people who attend this school are of conservative backgrounds, so people of different backgrounds might be left out but should not be discouraged from wanting to attend this university.
It's no secret that Mississippi is extremely conservative. If an enviroment run by religion, where equality is a dirty word, would bother the student, they should look into other schools.
You shouldn't attend MSU if you are not committed to the classes.
Anybody willing to enjoy the true experience of a college town should go to Mississippi State. There is a place for everybody to fit in.
I think any kind of person can attend this school as long as they are driven and want to achieve. Though, the distance learning may be difficult for those whom aren't self disiplined. You have to make your deadlines and get your work turned in on time.
I wanted to go into the medical field, but I wouldn't suggest coming here if you want to be a doctor.
The only type of person who should not attend school is the person who has no work ethic or desire to obtain a degree to get a good job.
If you are the kind of person that does not like to go out of your way to help someone, or is not willing to try new things then I wouldnt suggest this campus. There are many oppurtunities out there for people looking to be alone, this campus just is not one of them.
The type of person that shouldn't attend the school are people who aren't ready for to be challenged in the classroom.
People who are interested in just a good time, "typical college experience" shouldn't come to school here. You're not going to get any passes just because you're well like, you have to earn your grades the old fashioned way. Not saying we don't like to let loose once in awhile too, but this isn't strictly a party school.
A person that is not willing to work hard to reach their goals.
Anyone who wants a prestigious education. Anyone who wants a high quality, top of the line campus. Anyone who wants to live close to civilization.
There is not a type of person.
I think that any student would be able to thrive here a Mississippi State University, so I wouldn't ever dissuade someone from attending this university. However, I've noticed that students at this university have similar traits; students here are driven to excellence, not only in the academic realm, but also in every aspect of life. If a student doesn't have that motivation, they can find it here. The only student that shouldn't attend this university is a student that doesn't want to learn and doesn't want to be motivated to acheive.
A person who is unwilling to work hard. Mississippi State prides itself on being the People's College, however, the university boasts students who are willing to put forth 110{4a082faed443b016e84c6ea63012b481c58f64867aa2dc62fff66e22ad7dff6c} and if a student isn't willing to do that, they should not come.
Anyone used to or wanting to live in a large city.
Lazy people who don't care about education or getting a degree.
What's best about this university is the fact that you have every ethnic group imaginable and the school does a great job for incoming freshmen or new students to help accomodate them in. Any person can come to Mississippi State and feel at ease.
Anyone who doesn't have the will to achieve goals, an overly negative persona, anyone who expects a free ride and little work.
people who do not want a social life and only focus on school work
People who like big cities, people who are not interested in pre-professional majors or engineering, and people who can't get along with a campus that is largely conservative.
I honestly cannot say that someone should not attend because I know people from my high school that were very different from a lot of the other students but they have found friends like them. You get out of college what you put into it. Academically, it is not the best school for pre-law, or pre-med but MSU has a great engineering and vet school!
Someone who isn't openminded to different cultures or activities probably shouldn't attend MSU. Also, if you prefer a small college or a private college, I wouldn't suggest coming to State.
I think that any person would feel completely comfortable at this school with its great friendly and helpful environment.
I think a person who is uptight and antisocial should not attend this school because the people on this campus are very nice and friendly. Someone who is not a people person should not attend this school.
Someone who doesn't like big schools or doing a lot of social activities.
Snobby egotistical people who are rude and think they may be better that most of the people around them.
I think that MSU is pretty accepting of just about any type of person. People here are overall friendly and accepting of anyone. We've got a little bit of every kind of personality in the students.
A person that's looking for a big town or medium size town atmosphere. This is definetly a small college town, the students double the population when here.
Anyone, State is very welcoming and really fits its nickname as "The People's University" Everyone is welcome here
