Missouri Southern State University Top Questions

What do you consider the worst thing about your school? Why?

Jessie

The drop out rate is very high. I think counselors and professors may need to be more involved and stride for student graduation success. Theres not a lot of teachers that focus on you.

Paul

I have always felt that MSSU is a bit full of itself. It is a relatively small school in a relatively small town, and yet the attitude of the institution is very big and self-important. Academically, this is a non-factor, but there is an air of circumstance among the faculty.

shelly

Nothing about this school was bad or negative.

Morgan

School spirit is probably the worst. Our athletics are not the best in the area but maybe only half the students come out to the sporting events. Which is getting better as our athletics are getting better but more turn out would be nice.

Kortley

The worst thing is probably that there are not enough diverse people to have different, open-minded views on certain topics.

Todd

The worst thing about MSSU is their First Year Experience Program which requires you to take a class that "prepares" you for college. All it really does is teach you about the country of the semester and you go on tours of the campus and doesnt help you with much of anything. It does give you some helpful advice on what you need to do but it isnt a course that is needed the entire semester.

Harold

There is really nothing I don't like about the school, except for the fact that it doesnt' carry my desired major.

Kenneth

The hardware in the lab can't keep up with the new software sometimes.

Devin

There aren't a whole lot of things that I don't like about this school. If anything, I don't like the lack of parking space that students have. It makes the morning a little more chaotic. I also don't think that I would enjoy living in the freshman dorms. The construction of new buildings takes away from the beauty of the campus. Other than that, it's hard for me to come up with anything to complain about.

Luke

The worst thing about Missouri Southern is that it has massive debts and therefore has started to cut education expenditures and increase athletic expenditure in foolish attempts to boost income. Education is a business to this school. All the chiefs of staff care about it money.

Samantha

The worst thing about my school is the cost. Not so much the amount per credit hour, but all the fees that they charge that are extra, for things that aren't even used. If you don't live on campus, you shouldn't have to pay all the fees for the buildings that only on-campus students use. It isn't fair.
