Missouri Southern State University Top Questions

Missouri Southern was very familiar to me. The campus is easy to navigate, the professors are easy to reach, and the commute was comfortable for me. Opportunities for social activities, sporting events, and employment nicely complement the learning and academic focus of the institution.

It has international themed fall semester. Each fall semester the school chooses a country from around the world and sponsers activities to help students learn about that country. They sponser people from all over to come to campus to speak to the students about the country. They show movies from the country. They also have concerts where students get to hear music from that country and somtimes they put on plays that were written about the country. They even have a themed meal that helps the students taste food from that country. Overall it is a really awsome program.

Missouri Southern, while being located in the Midwest--which people don't generally think of as being culturally diverse--actually places a lot of emphasis on their study abroad program and other cultural programs. We have students from all parts of the world attending our university, and it is fairly easy to study abroad and receive financial aid for studying abroad.

Missouri Southern has an excellent Theater program along with two separate stages on which to perform.

I like how the teachers feel really genuine. If I have a question, they are always eager to find an answer for me. The staff is really cooperative. I love the campus. It is really pleasing to walk between classes in a well maintained area. The library is probably my favorite place on the campus, complete with a Starbucks on the bottom floor. On the top floor of the library, there is a quiet room with an amazing view of the campus. The sports events are really fun, as well.

I don't brag about my school.

I would say the teachers. Because you know that they really care about their students and their success. They want their students to do well, and they go above and beyond to make sure that they are successul. And, once you are out of their class, they still remember you, and still want to know how you are doing, and they are always there to help you when you need them.

My schedule being so flexible so that it works around my social life.

When I brag about Missouri Southern to my friends I tell them about all the resources available to the students for learning and research. I tell them that every building has at least one computer lab and if you have your laptop on campus you can get into the school system with no problem.

The small class size, great teachers, and close relationships they try to keep with students. I am also very proud and supportive of our athletic program.
