I attended MoVal as a dual credit student and found the material to be lacking in every way. The course work was not academically challenging or even mentally stimulating. My teachers were always inaccessible and provided grades with no rhyme or reason. When requesting assistance in classes or trying to determine where improvements could be made (especially in writing) my teacher ignored all attempts at text, call, or email communication. Furthermore, when visiting the campus I found the dorms and classrooms to be completely deteriorating and had a terrible smell. The cafeteria appeared to be lacking in every way and students were seen smoking and drinking in plain view. The only good thing I have to say about the school is that class sizes were small enough that I imagine in person classes to be more hands on, Overall my experience as a dual credit student was so bad that I ended up turning down an $100,000, full ride scholarship from the school in favor of a lesser scholarship at a better school.

I like the campus. It is small enough that of anything had happened people will know about it on Monday once school starts again. The school is overall not too bad. Sometimes it feels like they aren’t focused on Academics but they truly are. The academic part of the class room is where you pass or fail. Sports are not an option if you don’t have the grades.

I love Missouri Valley College and very happy with my choice to continue my education here. I am taking 4 classes this semester and I am happy with that decision just so I don't overwhelm myself. I am making friends and becoming good friends with my roommates. I have made friends here and have a friend from my high school that graduated with me who attends Missouri Valley as well. There is also a friend from another school in St. Louis that I met during wrestling meets while in high school.

I feel like Missouri valley college is a overall diverse college, it’s small! But it’s smaller than most college but it’s a great thing, because profressors are able to get more one on one time with the students which is always beneficial, I feel like Valley is such a great place to be because you really create so much memories and meet so many people that you’d like to keep in your life for ever !

The fall 2020 acceptance rate for Missouri Valley College is 46%. That means, out of _____ applications received in 2020 , _____ students were offered admission. The number of males who applied was _____ vs the number of females which was _____.

  2. What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

List out the things that are important to you about school. Is it location? Is it tuition? Is it extra curricular activities? Then, assign a rating to it, as to how important it is. Use this rating scale when you are considering locations. If it doesn't fit in several areas, it's not the school for you. Do not ever rule out the small colleges either. You may not have the vast amount of extra curricular activities, but you are not a number. The professors know you. The classes are small. You have a lot more opportunity to get involved in sports and clubs that you wouldn't have access to at a major university. Finding a job after graduation is also something people think you can't do if you enroll in a small college. I had a job one week after graduation- the exact job I wanted. So don't rule them out- it can be a really awesome experience. I tried the large university first and ended up transferring to the small school because of more scholarship opportunities and smaller classes. I loved the smaller school. Study hard ALWAYS! Take your time choosing the right school!
