As a high school student aiming for academic challenges and a headstart on college, I explored dual-enrollment at Montgomery College. The application process was tedious, but the flexibility of classes and the opportunity to earn college credits made it worthwhile.
The online application demanded attention to detail, gathering documents amidst my busy schedule was a challenge, but I persisted. Once enrolled, the flexible class timings, especially in the distance learning Film110 course, allowed me to tailor my study schedule effectively.
The Film110 class was engaging and sparked a passion for filmmaking, expanding my knowledge in the subject. Earning college credits while in high school proved invaluable, reducing the burden of future degree pursuits and enabling exploration of various academic disciplines.
Montgomery College's nurturing environment and dedicated professors provided crucial support throughout the journey. This experience has empowered me for future academic challenges and career aspirations.

I absolutely love Montgomery County Community College. I believe it was a great stepping stone to a traditional 4 year college. The college goes above and beyond for students as well as alumni. The tutoring service is absolutely amazing, there are many great extracurricular activities as well. The professors go beyond their traditional responsibilities for their students. The college has also dealt with the COVID-19 pandemic very well, the adjustment to going fully online was very smooth. If MC3 were a four year college I would want to stay here.

The campus is closed due to Covid. However, the online classes are amazing. The professors are great and they are always available to assist us. I could not have picked a better college to attend. The only slight downside would be Financial Aid. Sometimes you have to send in the same document twice, but overall they are very responsive and they will fix your issue. The work is challenging but you learn a lot. If you apply yourself and do the work, you will pass. if not, then you won't. The amount of effort that you put in determines your success. I would highly recommend this college.

What should every freshman at your school know before they start?
I have often wished that I could go back in time and give my 17 year old self some advice. The first thing I would tell myself is that you are not ready for college at 18. You barely know who you are as a person and you need to explore the world around you more. I wasted two years at an expensive school majoring in psychology and getting bad grades. I had no interest in school and lacked discipline. The only reason I went was because I thought it was the right thing to do. I learned the hard way that you can not succeed at anything in life unless you have a passion for it. Had I waited five years, I think my results would have been better. After working in the real world for a while I was able to understand my strengths and interests much better. I also grew a lot as a person and learned how to be more responsible. Too much preesure is put on high school seniors to make big life decisions. How was I to know at 17 that I would develop a passion for economics?
Students who are still deciding what career to pursue should attend this school because you can experience different classes and learn what your interests are, while only paying a fraction of a 4-year university tuition. My school has a variety of courses and different concentrations/majors for you to choose. It is a great place to get an idea of what you want in your future, and a great place to start your career.

Montgomery County Community College is a great place and is well known for many different majors and its overall great education, the student community is wonderful and accepting and are very willing to help newcomers or to just talk.

This school is not a dorm nor is it a four year college which makes it better in some ways like getting to go home everyday. Its also a drama free area which makes everybody happy.
All students must apply yearly for financial aid. This process starts with the FAFSA.
Though financial aid deadlines vary by school, it is a good idea to apply as soon as possible. For the upcoming school year, you can apply as early as October 1 for the FAFSA. Additional school aid will be dependent on the FAFSA results.
