Alexis

I currently go to Moravian College and love it. The professors are caring, the class sizes are small, and personable, there are plenty of activities to get involved in, and it is located in downtown Bethlehem. The professors are always there to help and are very accommodating. The class size is averaged to be 17 students. Sometimes it can be a little less as you get into more specific classes for your major, but sometimes more (40 students is the maximum, which is what you can expect from your science classes) During the week and weekends, Moravian has fun activities. For example, on Thursdays, it is movie night and the movies are recent releases. On Fridays, they have trips to the mall, BINGO, or other activities. We have even gone to NYC to see Broadway shows. Most of the events are free, but some are $5 (the ones located off-campus, e.g., going to see a show in New York). In addition, it is located in downtown, Historic Bethlehem where there are a ton of shops, eateries, etc. You can never be bored at Moravian. All in all, if you are looking for a close-knit school with kind professors, small classes, and a lively campus, this school is the right fit for you.

Just finishing my first semester at Moravian has been an absolute blessing. The semester may have been rough for me but the college has so many opportunities for help with classes and other extracurricular activities as well. I have the perfect time balance for classes and study time mixed with free time with my amazing friends I have made here. with so much provided by the school it makes the perfect safe community to grow as a young adult.

Clare

Terrible experience here. Leaving midway through the second semester of my sophomore year broke and more depressed and anxious than ever before.

Coming to Moravian College was one of the best decisions of my life. I have never felt such a strong sense of community from any place I have been before coming here! Everyone on campus, whether they be faculty, staff, or students, always look out for one another. When you talk with professors, students, alumni and other staff members about your career interests, they always work with you to find opportunities for you to learn more about their interests and the subjects they are studying. We maybe a small campus, but once you arrive you will feel like you have found a second home with a huge extended family!

  2. What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

Choose a college that has diversity and a wide array of majors, especially if your child is still undecided. Do not force your children to play sports in college, as it is a far more stressful experiance than high school was. Take advantage of scholarship opportunities and work study, definitely file for FAFSA. Try and encourage your child to stay on campus most weekends, especially during their freshman year so they can assimilate to the college life. Do not be afraid to ask questions, and do not be afraid to be picky and indecisive, college is a huge decision and a huge investment, make sure you are fully satisfied with your choice before you invest thousands of dollars.

The worst thing about Moravian College is perhaps the lack of much racial diversity and classes that promote the intensive study of various cultures. I brag about my school because of its size. Because Moravian is not very big, my classes have fewer students which makes every class so much more engaging. 10. What kind of person should not attend this school?

This College is considered to be amongst the three oldest in the country. It is important for the student who enjoys being apart of a large university and very modern system to recognize that this college may not be for them. Moravian is centered around small class sizes and traditional customes that have been used at the college for years. For example all schedules are hand written, and the student teacher ratio is about eleven students to every one teacher. On the other hand for students who are looking for a party school, you've come to the wrong place!

This college is perfect for the student who is transitioning out of a small high school or someone who is not ready for a large scale university. Moravian College is best known for its historical name, the college itself is the 6th oldest in the country, and has been around since 1742. 13. What's the most frustrating thing about your school?

Moravian being so small, often classes you want to take get closed out before you register for the next semester. Sometimes i wish i went to a school larger than 1,500 students for this reason. Also, being forced into a certain genre of meal plans based on your oncampus housing location is annoying.
