What do you consider the worst thing about your school? Why?

The group projects. I work for my grade, not for others

When looking for a college to go to pick the college that you want to go to not what everyone else wants. And while you at college dont fall under peer pressure do what you want if you dont want to party or drink dont. I am a sophmore at Morehead State University and i picked it becuase of the price, the campus size, and the surroundings. Everyone should experience the college life it really does change your life and gives you a different out look on life. But just remember college isnt just about having fun and getting drunk. I have never drunk in my life and never went to a college party and still am having the time of my life.

What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

I would tell the parents and students to try to find a school that meets the student's academic needs and is financially affordable for the family. I would encourage the student to take part in as much of the collage experience on campus as possible, which ranges from sociallizing to volunteering for the community.

What's the most frustrating thing about your school?

The most frustrating thing about my school is working in groups on assignments when half of the team doesn't do anything and the whole group gets the same grade.

The only way to find out if a college is right for you is to visit the campus, talk to the students, and find out what the classes are like. To make the most of your college experience, you need to be willing to try new things, step outside of your comfort zone, and find a balance between the academic and social aspects of your life.

What's the one thing you wish someone had told you about freshman year?

I wish I would have known that the majority of social activities that take place on this campus are fraternity/sorority related. If you're not greek, then you're probably not going to be able to go out and be social.

My school is boring on the weekends, and there is nothing for students to do besides drink.

What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

The size of a college is a big factor when choosing. Though my particular college is small, it does have alot of advantages when communicating with the instructors. High school is based on standardized tests and reguardless of how hard you try in highschool, you will be forced to pay for your school on your own if your parents are successful. I just wish that I recieved some type of financial assistance because my parents have their own bills to pay and cannot put me through college.

What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

Choosing the right college can be a very difficult process. However, there are several steps that a student can take in order to help narrow down their choices. First off, the student needs to look at the location and size of their college of interest. This is a large aspect of choosing a college. If the location (rural or urban areas) and size (classroom and total student population) is not what the student is looking for or wanting then they will probably not like the college once they are attending. Another aspect that they can look at is the classes offered and the degrees available. The student can also visit the college, sit in on prospective classes, and talk with current students and alumni. If they were to do this, they can truly get a feel of what the collge will be like. While looking at this, a student can narrow down the college choices. While choosing the right college is hard enough, more importantly, making the most of the college experience takes a little time and practice. The student needs to get involved with different clubs and activities, as well as being plugged into the social aspect of college.

What's the one thing you wish someone had told you about freshman year?

I wish I would have known how to better manage my time and how different the work load is compared to my highschool.

What do you consider the worst thing about your school? Why?

The only thing that ris really bad about my school is its rural location. It isn't close to many urban cities so it may be difficult for many people who are used to an urban city or want that type of college life.

What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

Choose a school that best fits the personality of your son or daughter or as a student yourself. Many peopel already have an idea of what type of college experience they want. I think it is important to visit the campus and learn about the school before making a decision.

What do you consider the worst thing about your school? Why?

Many students have attended elementary and high school together and grown up together. Transferring into a college from out of state may be difficult to adjust to. I wish that students would become more involved in school sports activities and general school spirit activities.

What kind of person should attend this school?

Students who like a small town enviornment with small classes and personal interaction. It is a becautiful campus and does refelct diversity, but an outgoing person who enjoys meeting new people would help at this campus.

What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

I feel like to make the most out of your college experience you need to contribute to it in some way. Parents who just hand over money to their children are really doing them a dis-service because they are not appreciating it in a way someone would if they had to pay for at least part of it on their own.

What do you consider the worst thing about your school? Why?

Mainly that a lot of people here don't appreciate being able to attend college. They prefer to concentrate on drinking rather than their education which is the reason we are here.

What kind of person should attend this school?

Someone who wants to experience a community. It is a very small tight-knit community.
