I wish I could give no stars. I am thankfully almost done, but I wouldn't recommend this to anyone. I know that Covid-19 has changed a lot but unless you want to teach yourself 12 chapters for an exam then receive an email about studying with a group I would stay far away. There has been maybe 2 professors who really care. No one emails back. Emailing the professors is a joke, don't waste your time. The professors give so much unnecessary work on top of the already heavy workload. You would think as educators they would listen to their students help them work through any issues to reach a goal. Here there is no encouragement, time needed or shown any skills in order to learn from. It is all on yourself.
Absolutely love attending college here. I've had little to no problems and thoroughly enjoy spending time on campus. It's small so it's easy to know everyone on campus and make friends easily. This college has helped me to open up in so many different ways and I would not be the same person if I had not gone here.
Mount Saint Mary is a school strictly for education. The social life is not good the school is so small that you know everyone on campus. As the year goes on the parties get boring and people start to drink more and do more drugs. During school days the teachers are helpful and the class size is perfect. Up to 25 people in the class so the teacher knows you personally.
The school is very "fun" and academically I like it here. Unfortunately, the nursing program is very disorganized and all the people care about here are making money. The head of nursing and the president of the college as well as the people in between, only care about their public image and making money. It is unbelievably unfortunate that they treat the students like statistics. The professors, on the other hand, are very helpful and care about the students. I love the small school atmosphere because all of my professors know me.
The fall 2020 acceptance rate for Mount Saint Mary College is 89%. That means, out of _____ applications received in 2020 , _____ students were offered admission. The number of males who applied was _____ vs the number of females which was _____.
If I could go back in time and talk to myself as a high school senior I would tell myself to save money most importantly. College is very expensive and everything costs money, books, tuition, honor societies, you are always paying for something. I would tell myself to start college right after high school. Do not delay your education. The longer you wait to begin your education the harder it is after you start. Apply for as many scholarships as you can. Any help you can get for college, take it. Look at and apply to multiple colleges. Do not limit yourself to one because it is easiest, closest, or most convinient. Choose a college that offers you the most for your money and the best education.
That the money that you make from the job that you have should be saved for when you are in college because it is an expensive time in your life.
The cafeteria. It is small and the food isn't good.
A person who does not have to worry about financial need should attend this school. If you have no monetary conerns then you should attend this school.
My classmates are very supportive and dedicated. They are also very knowledgable.
Mount Saint Mary College is placed in an underfunded, crime ridden, historical city, has a beautiful view from campus, is inhabited by a less than intellectual student body, and has a few phenomenal professors and faculty members that make up for the unimpressive others.
small class room size, internet wireless, many computers
The parties are awesome and the liquor stores always open
The emptiness on the weekends. Also how it is not diverse enough. I wish there were more student from other part of the world that attend my school. The study abroad program at this school is bad. It is not diverse at all. A student can only go to three countries that the school will sponser on their own, if the student want to go to another country they can't, or they have to find another school and take out more loans.
Mount Saint College is best known for their girls basketball team and nursing program.
It is small and has a breathtaking view of the river. Everybody knows everybody else. The profs are very active in the field that they study and spend as much time with their students as they do in their area of work.
Someone who wants to meet a ton of people, like in a huge school.
The academics are pretty tough. Many of the teachers encourage active participation, so you have to read your books or slides. Some students are competitive, but most like to help you out.
It is pretty great. They definitely give you an education worth the price. It is not a party school, so you can totally focus on your studies.
