Before coming to Muhlenberg I, like many of you, did a great deal of research, reading blogs, online websites, and anything I could find dealing with students' perspectives on the school. One of the issues that seemed to come up often was the lack of diversity on campus and our stereotype as a seemingly "all white school".
Muhlenberg is generally thought to be full of wealthy, Caucasian, Jewish students from New Jersey. Many people think that everyone either majors in the Theatre & Dance departments or in a Pre-Med/Health Science department as well. From College Guides and online resources, prospective students may also believe that we are a very welcoming and caring college unlike many other larger colleges and universities.
One of the most common stereotypes is that everyone is from New Jersey and/or Jewish and/or rich.
