What should every freshman at your school know before they start?
I would tell myself that college is not that much different that high school, but, the school work itself is harder and takes more time to accomplish. I would tell myself to make sure to take time to relaxe and hang out with friends. I would also tell myself that finding life long friends is something that happens in college and it is important to take the time to be relational with both new friends and old friends. Next I would tell myself that the teachers in college are just as friendly as those in high school and they are just as caring and eager to see you succeed. Finally I would tell myself that life does not get any less busy, in fact, it just gets bussier. On top of school and social life and volunteering you have to add a job so that you can pay for school.

The worst thing is probably that I commute and I don't drive. It makes getting to classes difficult. But there isn't much about the school itself I dislike. Things are annoying sometimes, but overall, there isn't anything I dislike.

Unlike a lot of public schools, Multnomah offers an incredible community. It's not a huge school, but it's just big enough to get lost in a crowd you know. At bigger universities you're lucky if you can find someone to eat with, but at Multnomah it's rare to walk a hall without running into someone. Everyone knows one another, and can stop and talk about what's going on in their lives without feeling awkward or exposed. Its a genuinely caring, comfortable, open enviroment.

I wouldn't say there is any single type of person that "shouldn't" attend this school. I can tell you, however, it would be far more financially saavy to spend your money at a Community College if you're a close-minded individual. This University isn't meant to shelter you, or protect you from the real world. It's meant to prepare you for life from a Christian perspective, and different ones at that. If you don't have an open heart and a ready mind, I reccommend steaming in a cheaper classroom.

My school firmly believes and teaches God's Word, the Bible, and offers many acceditted academic majors, fully equipping the students for post-college life.

My college is unique in that it has a Youth Ministry major which only a few other colleges offered. That is what I wanted my major to be originally.

I wish i was more prepared with the work load, it is a tough school and requires you to manage your time well.

The things that a brag about the most are that it is a friendly school, that the teachers and faculty care about how you are doing both academically and spiritually, and it is a school where you do not have to hide what you believe. The other thing that I love about my school is that every student is eager to learn about the Lord and is willing to sit down and talk about the Lord. This is cool because to learn this way is amazing because everyone is interested in the same thing.

My classmates are mostly really genuine and nice people who love Jesus Christ with all their hearts. I think it's pretty easy for most Christians to fit in at Multnomah (even older students).

Someone who is a follower of Christ who wants to study the Word indepth, and who wishes to be challenged in their perspectives in society.
