Good school but there are some times when I feel like money is more important to leaders than student happiness and success. All the professors are welcoming and happy to help and meet with you. The on campus clinic is a great resource and it is nice to give back to the community.

I absolutely love this place. The buildings are beautiful, the people are very kind and welcoming, the professors are accommodating, understanding, and accessible, and the facilities are nice. It is a very safe place to be, even at night. It is located in a perfect area with peace on campus and stores close by. I joined the team working for admissions giving tours to prospective students because I wanted to share my story, to share why it is a great place to be, and because there are so many opportunities here for everyone.

From the moment I stepped onto the Nazareth campus it left like home, and I knew that it was going to be the school for me. I was right. Three years later and I am just as excited to go back as I was the first day. I love that my professors know me as more than a name on their roster - they take the time to truly get to know each of their students on a personal level. Class sizes are small - around 20-35 students - but the small sizes makes for a more enriched educational experience. The on campus living (dorms and apartments) are not extravagant, but are much nicer than I have seen at other schools. As for the food, well it's your typical college dinning; sometimes it can be actually very good, other times you're not so lucky. The campus itself is absolutely beautiful no matter the season; from the gothic-esque architecture to the grounds themselves everything is picture perfect.

Emily

I love attending Naz- the professors are phenomenal and I have made so many wonderful friends. The class sizes are small, which makes for engaging in-class discussion, and the material is always engaging- even if I think I don't like the subject! The religious life on campus and other extracurricular activities keep me busy and help me to grow as a person.

  2. What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

Before I came to college, I was the typical high school senior. I had a terrible case of senoritis and treated my family with lack of care and understanding. I fought long and hard with my mother, father and siblings. I was a terror to be around because I felt lilke I knew everything. I have since reverted back to my old ways, what I was before the spell of senoritis took over. I am now more positive than ever and maintain spectacula relationships with all members of my family. I wish tha I could go back and treat my family better that one year. It made them miserable and I coudn't even see it I wsa blind to thedamage I was doing and I am so grateful that it was not permanent.

  3. Here's your chance: Say anything about your college!

A major difference that our school has is underground tunnels that link most of the buildings and dorms together. Nazareth College is located where the winters are long and cold. Having these underground tunnels help making it to class easier. Another difference is the size of the campus and the size of the classes are very unique. The campus is very small and quant. The classes are the same way. Each teacher knows you'r strength and weaknesses as well as who you are. I believe that this is important to know when looking at a college.

The small size of Nazareth lends it an almost small town feel where it is quite common to encounter the same classmates and professors in multiple capacities on campus. The majority of students there are studious and focused on their education but always willing to have a good time as well. There is never a dull moment on campus and very few people unhappy to be there.

  10. What is your overall opinion of this school?

I love every single moment of my college life here. I think Naz deserves more popularity than it has now. The class size is small, so all professors know us by name. My professors are amazing. They're really inspirational, and sometimes they make boring stuffs become so interesting. Every single person, faculty and staff, is so friendly and helpful, they will try their best to help you. The school facilities are great. You have everything accessible on campus. Personally, I am one of the people who lives inside the "Naz Bubble", which means you just spend your whole time on campus and don't even need to go outside. The best thing is our Arts Center. Students with Naz ID can watch FREE performances every week, some are student production, some are professional pieces of artists, bands and companies from Rochester area, somewhere in the US or even foreign artists. Imagine you can go watch some $50 performances for free on every weekend! The campus is beautiful. Yeah, it's small, but still amazing. And we have tons of clubs and activities for you to join. As far as I remember, activities happen every single day. We even have the "Left-handed Club", and a Harry Potter club named "Ministry of Magic"! Nothing is impossible here at Naz. The school officials really spend time listening to students' concerns, and they respond quickly. The Undergraduate Association also does a great job in connecting between students and school officials. Generally, I love my school, and I think every of my friends loves Naz too.

The Physical Therapy and Nursing Programs are both well-known and respected at Nazareth. Also, the small size of the college allows for a closer community. The campus is beautiful in every season. There is something to do every night, whether it be attending a lecture, watch movies in community rooms, or any other number of activities.

  13. What's the one thing you wish someone had told you about freshman year?

One thing that I really wish I could have known was how to live with someone who is a stranger, with totally different views and experiences in many aspects of life in general, and in addition to that, I wish I had really known how few guys there are on campus because we are totally outnumbered by females 4:1, which may seem like a great thing at first, but not only is it just plain annoying, it is easier to just avoid them because otherwise they won't leave me alone.

  14. What do you brag about most when you tell your friends about your school?

Nazareth is a great school, both socially and academically. I truly enjoy the peaceful surroundings of the campus. Additionally, I am thrilled students help one another and do not compete against each other.

  15. What is the stereotype of students at your school? Is this stereotype accurate?

Nazareth has the appearance of an "uppity," ralph-lauren, jcrew only, equestrian team, organic lettuce type of student. However, although these students exist, they are far from the majority. In fact, it's hard to say if Nazareth has a "majority" student. Nazareth is filled with pockets of different types of students: music nerds, athletes, mathletes, party girls...everything you can think of. Everyone eventually finds their niche at Naz.

  16. What are the academics like at your school?

All the professors know you by name, and they would love to have you stop by their offices to ask any question or discuss anything about the classes. They are very passionate about the classes that they teach, and they really care about how you perform in class and what you learn from the class. In most of my class, class participation is very common. We have great intellectual discussions between students and students, students and professors, in class and outside of class. I think students are competitive. They really spend time studying. The academic requirements are really challenging if you want to have a good report card. There're so many interesting classes that you want to take, and sometimes you just wish that you have enough time to study everything you want. Our favorite location is the library. There are always somebody studying in the library, no matter if it's 12am or 12pm. It's such a great place to really get focus on your assignments and intellectual pursuit.

  17. What are the most popular student activities/groups?

Everyone leaves their doors open in the dorms whether they are in their rooms or not. Athletic events somewhat popular but ther is somthing fun to look forward to every week. Comedians, hypnotists, free movies, food and give-aways... The school is very safe , we have "creeper beepers" that we carry with our pass keys that we can press at any time if we feel threatened, campus security will come running within 2-5 minutes and track you until they find you and know that you are safe. Dating scene is tough for girls because if the uneven guy to girl ratio. People party on Thursday, Friday and Saturday and although a good majority drinks, a substantial amount of students don't. That night, it poured rain the hardest I have ever seen. Before I knew it, there were at least 20 of us who all took off our shoes and just ran around campus in the rain. It was so much fun!
