My typical weekend starts on Friday evening with a cold beer at El Patio or the High Desert Brewing Company. It's nice to relax with friends after a long week at school. On Saturdays and Sundays I volunteer at least once for one of the many amazing animal welfare organizations here in Las Cruces. There are tons of opportunities to volunteer, and since I don't work on weekend it is a good way for me to do something worthwhile with my time. I try to hike as much as possible when I have friends that want to go with me, and sometimes when the weather is good I like to spend a night camping outside Las Cruces. I also like to watch movies at the $3 theater or visit new exhibits at the University Museum.
