What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

My advise would be to definitly attend open houses and ask around. Fine people who go or went to that college and ask them all the questions you have, even the small and simple ones. Make sure they have what your looking to study and talk to those professors and students that took classes you will have to take.

What do you brag about most when you tell your friends about your school?

I mostly brag about how fun the Fine Arts Department is. There is always something exciting going on at Midge Karr. My classes are so much fun and they've made me fall in love all over again with my mayor of graphic design.

What's the most frustrating thing about your school?

The only thing that bothers me is the distance between the buildings. The Fine arts building is at the other end of the campus while the Academic buildings are almost in the middle. It makes getting to class on time a little difficult.

What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

College is a different world from high school. Its hard to explain the feeling of what college is, untill you actually feel it your own.

What's unique about your campus?

I believe that NYIT is a great school for everyone, because there are many great careers to choose from for your future.

Care about your education. Having fun isn't everything, but at the same time, don't look back and wished you had joined that fraternity or club or had tried harder in school. Above all else, your paying for it, so tap out all the recourses your school ahs to offer and you'll learn that studying what youare pasionate about and getting involved is more fulfilling then bumming around and flunking out.

What's unique about your campus?

The architecture program, it is really good and very enlightening. Those who do try to get into school community though sga and fraternities are good friends and do a lot for the school

What's the most frustrating thing about your school?

other than a few departments and people. the school is very clique-y and is full of people who go to school becase mom and dad are loaded and dont care about school.
