I can't wait to get my BSN. I Love the campus and the Nursing Faculty. I am familiar with Newberry, Newberry Hospital, Lexington Medical Center where I will do my clinicals. I feel comfortable at Newberry College. I'm extremely excited for this new journey as a 48 year old going to college. I have raised my 4 daughters and have grandkids. I work full-time as a Nurse Tech II and love helping others. At Newberry College I will learn what it takes to become a Nurse and help in additionals ways. This is my dream to become a Nurse.
I always am thankful for Newberry to allow me to attend a beautiful school. I love my school. The family environment that is shown between all of the students is a fantastic experience. The outstanding teachers and students around allow me to feel apart of something special and apart of something wonderful.
Newberry college has been an amazing small school, that is extremely underestimated. The close proximity of the students and the teachers allows the experience at Newberry college to outshine experiences gained at a larger university. Newberry helps to better each individual student.
Newberry College has a friendly atmosphere and A.C.E tries to make sure there is always something to do on campus. One of my biggest issues is the freshmen dorms in Brokaw. The building is extremely old and the dirt inside is ground into the floor so no amount of cleaning can get rid of it.
The fall 2020 acceptance rate for Newberry College is 59%. That means, out of _____ applications received in 2020 , _____ students were offered admission. The number of males who applied was _____ vs the number of females which was _____.
Be patient and take the time to truly get to know yourself. There are teachers out there who will bring you down no matter where you go. As long as you don't lower your standards and fall for their words of demise, you will find friends in places that you'd never believe. Don't be afraid to loose friends as well. By and by you'll figure out which ones are the best for your mind and soul. Also, it's OK to be by yourself. This allows you to get your thoughts in order and carefully contemplate your next move in life. Be patient and walk around campus. A sound mind creates a sound soul and this is something that is hard to keep as the years progress. Lastly, colors are your best friend. Use them to your full advantage. You will be surprised at how much more you can learn and remember. So, do your best, study hard, watch funny movies, play games, submit yourself to nature, and you'll do the things that only you can do. See you in the future!!!
As I progress to the upper level classes the teachers give you more respect and freedom. Also if you show signs of hard work, they tend to be easier on you as they grade you tests. They automatically ask you to tutor people struggling in the same class as you and often give you words of praise and thanks both in and out of the classroom. Sometimes if they see you around campus they'll stop by and have a chat with you to make sure everything is going well.
The worst thing about Newberry College I would say, is probably the dorms. It is not the "Worst" thing, it is the most frowned upon. The dorms have been the same since my father attended Newberry College back in the late '70s. The dorms are acceptable to live in, and for the most part if the students would take care of them, things would be better. The dorms are what you would expect from a small private college that has been around for a very long time. They are not brand new and classy like D1 Universites and Colleges.
Some of them I look up to for guidance and strength while others I perfer to keep a good distance from.
Class sizes are small...you will get more of your work done and stay focused
I wish I had known that this college is not private as the price of tuition would lead you to think. Anyone can walk on our campus at anytime with out showing any i.d.
Nothing to really do on weekends

Those who like a nice small school, where the classes aren't big. Also if you're big on music, nursing or pre-law or anything like that.
Someone who is not ready to take the time it takes to be a good college student and someone who gets bored too easily.
The size of the campus is the best thing about my school, because it is not big like a university and you don't get lost in the crowd. Here everyone knows everybody and i love it.
