Love the school. The instructors are amazing and available. The facilities are nice and classmate’s and myself to stay and work outside of regular classes hours. This definitely helps when studying or preparing got s test. I an glad I chose this school

Jacob - 02/10/2020

My overall opinion of Newman University is that it is a very small but humble school. They take pride in everything they do and they never lack school spirit. I think it is a great school for if you want a more personalized and one-on-one schooling to make it easier to learn. Their baseball team, from my experience from meeting the coaching staff was outstanding. All the coaches are down to earth and they care about each on of their players. They are no nonsense coaches but also love to have fun. That is why I think Newman is good for me!

Amy - 02/22/2019

I am very excited to attend Newman University! Since I visited, they have made the process of admission, to figuring out how to select class and pay for them a breeze! I have had the ability to contact a admissions counselor anytime of day. Their on-campus housing is safe and affordable. I have been given a list of extra-curricular activities that I am encouraged to participate in. It is very scary to be approaching this next step in my life, and Newman has been with me every step of the way. Even at the beginning of my search for college, they followed up with me and have made me feel valued.

Marissa - 10/16/2018

Taking an Avid tour of Newman University I was able to see the inside look of what their college life is about. The library was phenomenal, and their housing for on campus is so cute and cozy feeling. One of the major things that stood out to me was their cathedral area. This University made me feel at home!

Newman University FAQS

  1. What is the Acceptance Rate at Newman University?

The fall 2020 acceptance rate for Newman University is 57%. That means, out of _____ applications received in 2020 , _____ students were offered admission. The number of males who applied was _____ vs the number of females which was _____.

  2. What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

I would expect to tell myself to be ready for what many call the real world. This cliche is true for me since I grew up in a Christian community that was for the most part very decent and didn't include what many others do in their free time. I would also tell myself to really give some deeper thought in what I really want to do with my life. I realize that I need to love my job and that pursuing a lot of money is always an unachievable goal. With that being said, I would tell myself to find a job without considering the amount of pay that the job would earn. I would rather have a fun job that had a decent and livable wage than a job that I would regret gonig to every day just so that I would receive a generous paycheck. Another aspect to look at would be to not give in to peer presure. This is the road that ultimately fails you in the end leaving you with almost nothing to accomplish in your life time. All these reasons would have made me a better college student.

  3. Describe how your school looks to someone who's never seen it.

Although Newman focuses so heavily on service, academics and community, my school tends to sheepdog students into a single-minded, negative approach to their studies and their life; the strong beliefs of the faculty does not transfer to the students, but instead unknowingly encourages distance and resentment toward the University.

  4. What's unique about your campus?

The best thing about Newman is that it's small campus so it limits the amount of trouble one can get into. The class sizes are smaller so students aren't a student identification, the professors know you by name. It seems like professors are more invested in the students since you are able to develop a more personal relationship.

  5. Describe the students at your school.

My classmates cover the whole spectrum of people including those who are jocks, the ones who may do drugs, to the ones that excell and over achieve at everything they do to the ones that are so lazy you may not see how they made it to college and then the average ones that just try their best and see what happens.

  6. Here's your chance: Say anything about your college!

It is very exact in course requirements and there is so much room for growth and further advancement in studies.

  7. What do you consider the worst thing about your school? Why?

The worst thing is the lack of on-campus jobs available especially for student athletes like myself with a different schedule. Work-study on campus is a joke because there aren't opportunities available.

  8. What kind of person should not attend this school?

To those who are looking for a big university college, or wanting to live in a college town for intance like OSU, this school would not be suitable to their taste. Newman is a smaller university, with exciting and memorable classes and amazing professors, who take time out of their day to really get to know who you are as a person. If you are not looking for a one on one ratio with the professors then Newman is also not the school for your choice.
