I would definately say take as many AP courses as you can so that you can make more time for programs such as studying abroad. I would also tell myself to really visit the college campuses and sit in on classes to really get a feel of what the college or university really has to offer. Although I am satisfied with my choice in college now, sometimes I wonder if I might have been happier someplace else, and I think I would not wonder so much if I wouldn't have put off applying and visiting schools. Finding a school that works for you is the most important, and knowing people who also attend that school isn't necessarily important because it forces you to make friends and really branch out of your comfort zone.
