NIcholls reminds me of a high school, just with more students and less rules. Some teachers here are good and some bad. The food in the cafe us only good on Wednesdays and Fridays. Party life is only on thursdays and sometimes on saturdays, and if our football or basketball team win a game and for homecoming week its party galore.
Nicholls is literally the best school ever. The campus isn't too big but it isn't too small either. Everyone is extremely friendly and the classes are super easy. We have the BEST food in the state and there are plenty of other food options f you don't like the food in the cafeteria. Nicholls wasn't my first choice but I feel so at home here and I'm glad I chose Nicholls!
At Nicholls State, there is diversity, pretty good overall grade but the workload is tougher than other universities, like LSU. When it comes to graduating, unnecessary obstacles get in your way. For example, there is a set of marketing courses that need to take to get this degree, but this one is only offered in the spring (set back) and I can't graduate sooner because I can only handle five courses at a time, not six! I feel like certain problems will affect the rate of which students graduate. That's the biggest problem, but on paper, the Nicholls looks good.
Nicholls State is very near and dear to my heart. Growing up, I drove through campus often and always wondered what it's be like to attend Nicholls. Now that I do, I can say that I wouldn't choose any other university. I love the culture! The food at Nicholls is second to none. There is lots of variety & there's always some Tony's on the table in the caf! I've visited many other campuses in Louisiana before choosing Nicholls, but the hospitality and small nature of the university in my home town simply couldn't be beat. I wouldn't trade my time here for anything.
The fall 2020 acceptance rate for Nicholls State University is 82%. That means, out of _____ applications received in 2020 , _____ students were offered admission. The number of males who applied was _____ vs the number of females which was _____.
Take the time to learn to study. It's not possible to pass college classes by just showing up and paying attention.
In my classes at Nicholls, all my students are nice and are willing to help whenever you need it.
How much the staff cares about the students. It's important in helping us as students succeed.
The worst thing about Nicholls State University is that is is mostly a commuter school. Nicholls does have multiple residence halls, but in the small town of thibodaux with many other small surrounding towns, many students live at home. With a school that is mostly commuters, there are always a low attendances at evening events held on campus. This is the worst thing I could think about.
Nicholls State University is an amazing and unique college. Due to its relatively small size students can bond with teachers, and not just be a number in a classroom. Whereas at some other colleges classroom consist of large numbers and you go unrecognized. The campus is also relatively small and has beautiful landscaping . The Campus Union provides great entertainment along with food and snack options if a student does not wish to go eat in the cafeteria. Nicholls is a wonderful college and has many wonderful benefits to offer students that wish to attend.
Before I came to Nicholls State University, I wish I would have known more about all the various opportunities available for me. I knew of a few clubs that I could be a part of, but I discovered so many during the first weeks of school that I had never heard of. I was especially interested in nursing/allied health groups because I am majoring in nursing. I only wish that I would have known about these groups before the semester started so that I could be a part of them.
My school would be considered not large at all but not small either, but we do have alot of people who are eager to help you to succeed in your major and want to see you graduate.
When I lived in the dormitories on campus, one night the fire alarm went off for no reason at 5 a.m., and that is the most frustrating experience I've had at my school.
I will brag about how small the school is. Also, I will brag about the ample opportunities for tutoring. Also, I will brag about the administrators at the school becasue they geniunely care for the students and are willing to help a student.
A student that is concerned about their academics, more so than just going out and partying.
The English Department. Nicholls' English Department is renowned for it's difficulty.
If I was to say what kind of person should not attend this school I would definitely have to say someone who is not serious about their future. I've seen too many students on this campus who have flunked out of school because they never went to class and never studied.
