The students at Norfolk State University has many opportunities given to them, although they are not taken fully advantage of. Despite the bad reputation Norfolk State University, had in the past, we have made huge improvements with a gradual increase in academic performances with our students.

My classmates are crazy! Crazy enough to believe that they can achieve anything that they put their minds to. Crazy in love with a university that many around them have given up on, and have crazy thoughts of taking little resource and changing the world.

I really enjoy my classmates at Norfolk State University. Although my school is predominately black and I am white, I found that integrating myself into the daily life to be extremely easy and stress free. The students I have encountered here have diverse personalities, religions, values, and characteristics. However, the treat me with respect and with kindness instead of scorn and disgusted looks as I was honestly expecting during my first week. I have found that no matter where you go, people are simply people.

My classmates know why they came to college and what they are here for. They pay attention in class with no disturbances or interuptions. Everyone in my class has a goal and they are there to acheive it.

My classmates are all different. They all come from different parts of the country, and for different reasons. The ones that I have made friends with, have taught me alot about where they come from and what is routine in their lives. I find it very interesting to meet so many new people and to learn about where everyone comes from.
