North Carolina A & T State University Top Questions

Before attending North Carolina A&T State University, I wish that I would have known how important it is to do research on a professor before choosing them. I just clicked on the first class that fit my schedule and ended up with a professor whom did not actually teach but only lectured the class. Now I know to check out the professors before actually selecting them.

Just how close to my family that I really was before I left. I love my school but if I had to do it all over again knowing what I know now I may have choosen to go to a university closer to home.

I wish I would have known how important it would be to save money, be strong minded, and responsible. In college you are your own responsibility and without knowing how to save money, you will have plenty hungry nights. You have to be strong minded to say noto peer pressure and do what you are supposed to do.

I wish i had known that the school was not surrounded by much. overall I love where i chose to recieve my undergraduate degree.

I WISH I WOULD HAVE KNOWN THAT THE DORMS WERE NASTY.

I wished I would have known before I went to college is how expensive it was. If I would have known that college was expensive, I would have started to save money and fill out more scholarships before I attended the school of my choice. I wish I had a counselor that exposed me to the expense side of college and would help me in finding ways to provide the appropriate expenses towards college. I should have done some research on the school of my choice so that I would be more aware of how to plan for college.

I wish I had known exactly where the dorm rooms were so I could have chose a better dorm to fit my class schedule and classes. If I had known this I would have chose to stay in the dorm in the middle of campus instead of staying in the one on the opposite side of my classes. I also wish I had known about the honors program because I would have joined my freshman year instead of hearing about it my sophomore year and It being too late.

I wish I would have known that I would barely come home because of the long distance from school to home.

I wish that I had known more about scholarships available for new students during my freshman year . The full importance of upholding a 3.5 or higher my freshman year in college meant nothing because I didn’t apply it properly. Over the 3 years of attending this university and becoming more involved with different organizations I have learned about the ample amount of scholarships set aside for specifically for freshman every year and it makes me want to go back and start all over and apply the knowledge I’ve obtained about the many scholarships awarded to incoming freshman.

That school comes before girls partys and everything thats not school related

There isn't much I can say about this school specifically in terms of hidden realities. I do wish I had known that the financial aid office would be very slow in processing your infomation. Now it has improved over the years but, prior to the changes, the service wasn't very unacceptable. Where other schools and students had recieved packages and student refunds a majority of us had to wait in 4 hour lines just to recieve service. We now have direct deposit and acess of account by web. Finally!!!

A little more about what to expect about college.

well I just wish I had know that having a good GPA doesnt automatically qualify you for scholarships, its kind of difficult to get money to help pay for the school. I attended a school where I got alot of financial help including scholarship because of GPA.

The best method to make sure you get the classes you need. There have been times when I had trouble getting required courses. If I knew then what I know now I wouldn't have had the trouble.

I wish I would have known how much at home readings I would have to do to be sucessful. I was expecting instructorst to tell me everything that was going to to be on test and exams, but that was not the case. If you did not read the assigned chapters, then most likely you would have trouble on the assignment.

I wish that I would have known that college life was going to be more fun than I thought because I always go into everything thinking it is going to be hard and sometimes I set myself up for failure.

I wished I have saved money as my parents instructed me to do. Every amount of money I received went towards material things, items that would not by any means help me in college. As time passed I continued to spend like a wild banshee not knowing how much my recent purchase would hurt me in the long run. When I got to college I quickly realized what my parents had been trying to tell me. Save your money you will need it when you are in college. Don't spend your money like there is no tomorrow.

I wish I had known what college classes were really like. Its not that the classes are very difficult or too fast, it is just the overall feel of going from class to class, choosing which work to do first, and trying to make time to make friends. In high school there is usually a break in between classes but college totally different; and unlike high school, where it really didn't matter which class homework is done first, in college you have to have order in homework.

I wish that my teachers would have challenged me more during high school, that they would have taught me to think critically. I wish I would have been taught how to mange my money and time mangement as well.

I wish I knew more about the parking the parking is horrible but the classes, professors are great.

I wish I had known how to schedule my own classes. My advisor scheduled my classes for me and I was put in classes that were early in the morning. I had an eight o'clock class that was located at the edge of campus. Some days I really didn't feel like going to class but I pressed forward to get my education.

I wish I would have taken advantage of all the opportunities available in high school. The students at my school come from many different walks of life and statues and they seem more experienced and prepared than I was. Even though there are equal chances to learn and grow here, it never hurts to start early, or at least the freshman year of high school. A good example of this is A.P. or I.B. classes.

I wish that I had known that being an out of state student. regardless of my grades, would cause so much difficulty in attending the school that I have always wanted to attend. The tuition in nearly doubled for out of state students and for family financial situations, I have found myself scraping for the last thousands of dollars to pay my tuition each semester, and founr myself nearly dismissed.

How much school spirit the school has, and how to manage my time well

I would have to say I had a little more time management skill because coming to the campus as I mentioned before you will be involved with a lot of different activities, which could interfer with school work.

I wish i had known a better technique of studying. My reason for this statement is because the transistion is so major that with bad study habits you will not have much success. With the proper study habit you can have fun as well as do your work in an efficient and timely manner. I found out that with the proper study techniques that making the dean's list is always within reach.

I dont regret not knowing anything. I came in expecting an average experience but it was extrodinary.

I DONT THINK IT'S NOTHING I WOULD HAVE KNOWN BEFORE I CAME TO THIS SCHOOL. I THINK THAT DEFEATS THE PURPOSE OF KNOWING WHAT A COLLEGE EXPERIENCE IS ALL ABOUT. IF I DIDNT KNOW SOMETHING I HAD TO ASK, THAT WAS APART OF ME MATURING AND GROWING UP SLOWILY.

That everything that you do from the time you arrive to the time you leave college will determine who you are. There are no do-overs, so choose your friends wisely, take your steps carefully, and live life fully.

I wish I had known that the faculty would be so anti-jazz. I thought that the department wuold have been more supportive.

Before I came to school i wish i was finiacally stable.

I wish I knew how necessary it was to have a car. The school does provide shuttles as far as getting around on campus and to off campus housing, but as far as the grocery store and the mall, I wish I had saved up for a car.

I wish that I would known how to be more focused and how not to procrastinate so much. I wish I would have learned how to use my time wisely and how to prioritize better. I love everything about my school and I learned tremendously over the three years that I have been here. There are just things that I would have known for myself to be a better student when I started out..

I wish I had known how to maintain a social life and an academic life. I feel like I could have hung out hard and studied alot hard.
