I love NCU! I will be a senior this fall and am so thankful for the years I have attended. I have been challenged, uplifted, encouraged, and made better as a person. Spiritually, I can say that I have made huge leaps forward and am stronger in my faith as a result. I have learned so much about what it means to surrender to the Lord and allow Him to refine my heart. The time spent here is completely priceless!

I love North Central University, especially the sense of community and the people who make up the faculty and staff. The professors are extremely helpful and I thrive in the small class atmosphere that is offered. I enjoy getting to know the people on my dorm floor and have made a lot of new friends because everybody is so nice and friendly. I love the fact that professors want to help us succeed and strive to teach us as much as possible.

I transferred to North Central as a sophomore and absolutely love it here, it is not your typical college as it is located in the heart of downtown Minneapolis, but the community and atmosphere around campus is amazing. There is never a shortage of things to do and the professors genuinely care about you and are invested in what you do. They want to make your dreams a reality.

  5. What's the one thing you wish someone had told you about freshman year?

One thing I wish I would have known before coming to North Central is how to save money. Since North Central is located in downtown Minneapolis, there are lots of reasons and opportunities to spend money. The school itself also costs about $20,000 per year. Creating a budget and monitoring my monthly spending would have been great ideas for my freshman year in college.

  6. What kind of person should not attend this school?

The kind of person who is not open to any bit of religion and religious activity should not come here because it is at the heart of the school. This school was founded as a religious institution. Yet if someone is open to learning about the Pentecostal/evangelical part of Christianity then North Central is a great place for that.

  8. What's unique about your campus?

I consider the community as the best thing about the school. It is a private Christian Pentecostal school that places a huge emphasis on the fact that we all share in the same values and beliefs, for the most part. It helps to take away a few of the stresses that can be had at a secular campus, such as drinking, other lifestyles not followed by our beliefs. This allows for us to concentrate more on our schooling in my mind anyway.

  9. Describe your favorite campus traditions.

Our small community that is close and helpful during your academic career here. Also the student to teacher ratio is 18 to 1, which is exactly what I need to feel like I'm not just a number. One on one help is always available from my professors. The music program is excellent and provides many opportunitiies. The campus is location downtown Minneapolis which makes finding work easy and creates alot of entertainment nearby.

  10. What do you consider the worst thing about your school? Why?

The worst thing about my school is that, they are looking for perfect students. My schools policies make it so that they "weed out" bad or troubled students. In my opinion I think if a student is in need of help, kicking them out doesn't solve the problem.

  11. What do you brag about most when you tell your friends about your school?

I always brag about the good friends I have, the fun I have in intramurals, the great places to eat around the area, and then just how great the chapel services, or praise gathering nights are.

  12. What's the most frustrating thing about your school?

Not everyone here wants to serve God. The professors do, the staff does, but some of the students are here because someone made them come here. You have to chose your friends wisely so you don't end up with a crowd that will drag you down. Similarly, there are some hard-working students here and some who spend their entire time watching television, playing nintendo, or wasting their time in any number of other ways. Again, chose wisely. Finally, if you are looking for a school with a strong focus on math and science, I wouldn't recommend NCU.

  13. Here's your chance: Say anything about your college!

North Central isn't just all about learning a bunch of facts in your field. They work hard to give all students opportunity to develop as human beings wholistically--leadership, social skills, learning skills, and spirituality. While North Central does not try to indoctrinate their students to an unreasonable extent, they do push students to develop in all of these facets of life.
