North Georgia College & State University Top Questions

What do you consider the worst thing about your school? Why?

Paige

The clubs arent very inviting, one definitley feels like an outsider. There also are very limited classes for the students, i am wasting my time taking core classes that are doing nothing to help me figure out what I want to do in the future

I personally beleive that the worst thing about my school is that they do not have enough funds to be able to expand to different areas of the state. By doing this they would provide greater opportunities for students and at the same time increase the university's reputation. This is in my opinion the worst thing about my school.

Scottie

Theres is not anything bad about my school.

Amelia

The worst thing, to me, about my school is the lack of support from the general public. It seems that many view NGCSU as a low class school, and a last resort. I feel the academic rigors to be suffiecient, and the school to be the best I have ever experienced.

MEGAN

The worst thing about my school would probably be that it does not offer an extended amount of degree's to choose from. This can sometimes be a challenge to prospective students because it limits their abilities to choose which degree they want to complete. They offer a generous amount of degrees, but as far as higher master degree's, choices are limited. A degree is one of the most important thing that a person can have, and if North Georgia does not offer certain ones they may loose prospective students.

Lindsey

The worst thing about my school is the amount of recognition it doesn't get.

Gina

At North Georgia College and State University, there is not much to do on the weekends. Like most colleges and universities, there are acitvities going on throughout the weekend or a friday night football game; but there is no football games at NGCSU due to no football team. Besides nothing really to do on campus, NG is an awesome school!

Kaylee

I do not like the big change from high school to college. It is so much different! I think there needs to be a class or something to prepare you and let us incoming freshman know what will be expected.

Tina

Many professors appear to be far too liberal and not interested in discussing or pursuing conservative conversation. The administration sets the tone and the professors fail to address or discuss conservative values with their students. Some professors feel free to denegrade Republicans and Tea Party members instead of discussing ideas. Additionally, the history of this country is falling to the wayside on campus. I feel compelled to educate my fellow students on the accuracies of history; otherwise, they will not question the actions of politically dictatorial behavior. An historical perspective is mandatory for a healthy nation.

Melissa

Walking up and down all the hills.

brandi

The Dinning Hall. It closes early. It closes when some people are just getting out of class. Students are not allowed to take food out.

Matthew

My school has a long list of offered majors, but for some their major may not be on that list. It is a great place for core classes that everyone must take and even for many degrees, but the worst thing about my school is that if you are not planning on receiving one of the offered programs of study here then you must transfer to another school that does offer your major. Your perspective major is essential information when deciding a college.

Kristen

The worst things about my school are its policy on living situations for the first year as well as the high priced meals. The first year of college you don't have the option to live off campus unless you live with your parents. The meals are a bit pricey too especially for the quality.

Bradley

Expensive, although the tuition is regulated by the state probably. I love this school and little wrong.

Erin

The food could be better.

Victoria

The worst thing about my school is that there is very little cultural diversity, and those with different views have trouble fitting in; we go by the "don't ask, don't tell" policy of the military.

Helen

The only thing I do not like about this school is the parking situation. There is just not enough.

Krista

The worst aspect of my school is the parking situation. Even with the new parking deck, there is still not enough parking. Resident students are not allowed to park next to campus buildings during the day, not even the Chow Hall/cafeteria. The campus police give out parking tickets all the time for improperly parked vehicles, even if the vehicle is only parked for ten minutes so the driver can get food from Chow. The school eliminated the 30 minute parking spaces next to Chow and other buildings, so more parking tickets are given out.

Jonathan

I think the worst part about my school is having to wake up in the mornings for room inspections and physical training. North Ga. is a military college, and after a long night of studying/playing the mornings come real early.

Aaron

Wasting my time. Because I will never get that time back and I can always find a way to be productive during that time I lost.

Casey

The residence life. The rules are extremely strict, and they won't cater to any change.

Nicole

The parking situation is the only thing I would complain about.

Kristen

it is very conservative. There are those who are very set in their ways and will not bend despite the greatest evidence.

Jasmine

North Georgia is smaller than my high school. I wish my school was a little bigger, not a huge university like University of Georgia, that school is way to big for me.
