If i could go back and talk to myself as a high school senior, I would tell myself: prepare, prepare, prepare. I was very dependent on my parents back then and really didn't know a thing about what I was doing. I was so lost on this whole college thing and they were no help. I had to do it all on my own. I had no idea what I wanted to do, how to apply, and didn't even begin to know where to start looking for which school I even wanted to attend. It was all so stressful, so I kind of put it on the backburner and focused mainly on the tasks at hand. I wish I had involved myself more in this whole process, because seeing all of my peers so excited to begin school after that summer break left me feeling a little bit behind. I had nothing to look forward to, and I regret not preparing myself earlier. I'm glad to finally be enrolled in CTC, because I want to feel like I'm actually doing something with my life.
Before attending school here, I really didn't know any of the basics that the average college student might want to know to prepare themselves. I never really planned on attending college and jumping right into the workforce, but the recent economy decline was a big slap in the face for me to see that to really get any job, a higher education is key. Also, I wish I had known financial aid had covered books! It would of saved me alot of stress.
My school is best known for being part of a sort of "super college." It has seven different campuses where a student may attend, which maximizes our potential of resources and opportunity for our education. I enjoy the fact that I could move practically anywhere in North Georgia, whether it be for a job or other life ventures, and my classes can transfer over with me and doesn't mess up any of my progress.
I had really high expectations about my experience here when I first began. I have been disappointed with the lack of organization of our program. People who are need constant stability and organization will be very disappointed at my school.
