When I was in high school I had hopes of becoming a pediatrician. If I could go back I would tell myself that I should apply to Kennesaw State University for their Nursing Program and revisit the idea of Medical School later. I am very happy with where my career is going now and I would tell that to the High School me. I love Nursing. I can do so many things that I had no idea were possible before. I can be one-on-one with my patients and really accomidate their needs. As a nurse I will have an infinate amount of opportunities to grow as a person and a care giver.
If i could go back and talk to myself as a high school senior, I would tell myself: prepare, prepare, prepare. I was very dependent on my parents back then and really didn't know a thing about what I was doing. I was so lost on this whole college thing and they were no help. I had to do it all on my own. I had no idea what I wanted to do, how to apply, and didn't even begin to know where to start looking for which school I even wanted to attend. It was all so stressful, so I kind of put it on the backburner and focused mainly on the tasks at hand. I wish I had involved myself more in this whole process, because seeing all of my peers so excited to begin school after that summer break left me feeling a little bit behind. I had nothing to look forward to, and I regret not preparing myself earlier. I'm glad to finally be enrolled in CTC, because I want to feel like I'm actually doing something with my life.
