It's perfect for anyone who loves God, philosophy, intellectual conversations, nerds, music, and art. It's also great if you're a super shy person because everyone there is either super sweet and friendly and willing to go the extra mile to get to know you, or shy like you are. There's a lot of kindred spirits for any luna lovegoods or anne of green gables type people. There's also a few normal people but they tend to be the good kind of normal person so that's fine. Also the campus is beautiful-- you can go out to the woods and see sunlight filtering through the leaves at sunset, you can lie in this huge green valley at night and watch the stars and get completely buried in snow, you can go hiking and skiing if you're into that kind of outdoorsey stuff. The only critique I have is not really a critique so much as a desire-- I wish the school had more diversity. So if you're shy, black, and catholic, please come join us.

Overall this was one of the worst experiences of my life. It taught me a lot, but it wasn't worth it in the end. For one, the admissions team will deceive you as much as they can just to get you to commit. If you want to go to a school that has no wifi in the dorms, wants you to scrub floors and clean toilets (because there isn't a maintenance team to maintain the school it's all student led) and work in the student run kitchen that feeds everyone. This school is not accredited and they will tell you that they are "in the process of accreditation" which means nothing if you want to transfer.There is a curfew that all students have to honor. This isn't a place that allows for someone to flourish as an adult. The students that go here are very sheltered and enjoy being treated like children. This is a high school- like environment and I wouldn't wish this place on my worst enemy. Save your money because there are so many better places to get a degree. As a college Sophomore, I love this college. This is a small college that has no even a 100 students. But its alway fun haiging out here. why? Well, here you can form long lasting friendships, we organize trips to plays, muicals, hiking trips, trips to other states like Boston, we organize swing dances and other. The teacher here care a lot about the students and their grades and they will hold you after class to see how you're doing.

  2. What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

    If I could give my high-school self some advice about college, I would tell her three things. First, in the way of academic advice, I would tell her never to procrastinate and always do assignments right the first time. So much time in college is wasted procrastinating on that ten page philosophy paper or that 50 page humanities reading, when you could have finished it days ago and avoided all the stress of pressing deadlines. Procrastination separates the mediocre students from the really excellent ones. Second, the college experience is not limited to academics, though they're of first importance. College offers so many opportunities and new experiences, so be open to them and enjoy life. Go out and see New Engand's rich variety of historical sites, take on a new challenge (snowboarding!), or get involved in a theater group. You encounter some of your best college experiences when you get out of your comfort zone and get involved in the community. Third, give back to the community in your own way or with others. Take time to show others how much you appreciate what they've given you, and ultimately it will make you a happier person.

    Magdalen College is well designed to prepare students for life after college, a place to establish healthy habits while in a stable enviorment, and a school where students are encouraged to participate in and share their beliefs.

  5. What do you consider the worst thing about your school? Why?

    The worst thing about Magdalen College is the limited amount of sports they have to offer, besides the pick-up games of soccer and basketball by bored students or the Ultimate Frisbee, Skiing and Boxing clubs, the school lacks in the athletic department.

    This school attracts students that are interested in academic rigor, philosophy, and religion. It is also very attractive for its sense of community and friendliness. The classes and community are small, allowing students more personal attention from professors and more of sense of community with other students. It is very attractive to Catholic students who take their faith seriously, and those interested in helping and improving the community and the world.
